I'm so excited he's reached a good weight for release! I'll do so Saturday at dusk which is about 9-930 pm. He will go a short distance from where he was found and I'll put extra food for him.

The hedgehog had been seen by my vets and is rather healthy. I'm to get him to a good weight before I release him. Luckily we know where he was found so he can be released in the same place. Hogs have an internal mapping system and will struggle if not returned to the same place. He's eating and drinking loads so it won't take long to get him up to a good weight.

I've had two intakes today. Casper the budgie and a hedgehog. The hedgehog is my husband's doing 🙄. He went to the store and on his way back he passed a family who were looking at the hog and wanted to know if he knew what to do. He said no but my wife does and he told them to stay put and he'd run home to get me. They thought it might be injured but I didn't see anything obvious. I brought it home and have since given water and kibble. It drank loads and has eaten and is not as lethargic as it was. It's currently in tote with a towel to curl up in. Tomorrow I will be handing it to my vet for further care.

I made 5 litres of chop yesterday only to realize that I forgot the carrots and green beans 🙄. So I sat on the settee watched TV and chopped them all by hand mixing as I went. I had already washed and put away the food processor. 30 bags in the freezer and cramps in my hands. The things we do for our animals 🤣

This youngin came this afternoon. The family thought it was a girl and named it Darlie. I was sure it was a boy and I am right. So now he is named Darcy by my husband 💕. He's gorgeous and settling in quite well. He's not hand tame so I'll be working with him alongside Chole once he's ready.
