What a great weekend for the 3Cs competition group! All went to different shows and all achieved their goals; a grade move up for Leia the Goldie, and for Fennel the super fast collie, plus an A4A finals qualification for Ebony the black lab. Amazing results! Well done everyone xx

Now full, but we have a waiting list….We can also offer Audit spots for both AM and PM sessions at £10 per session. You will be able to observe, ask questions - everything but run a dog!

We are holding a Training Day on the 23rd of August at The Masters, Rookley, IW

Six hours of training with a maximum of eight in the group.

The format will be two skill sessions in the morning followed by course walking practice and course running in the afternoon.

I don’t know - dogs!! They know how to keep you humble!

I decided to do a little bit of skill training today, set up a nice simple framework to support the drill - then found that we spent the whole session working on the framework! Oh well it’s good to find where the gaps are!

This is such a brilliant place to take your dogs - whether or not your dog has ‘issues’ it is sometimes lovely to let them explore in total safety. The equipment is so dog friendly and well maintained and checked and it is people friendly too! We are lucky to have such a great place.

Last update from A4A Jurassic Coast show, with both Hazy and Lucy (Kelly Bailey) winning their respective heights to qualify for the Novice Performance Challenge sponsored by Dogeria UK.
We also had some brilliant NFC work from all 3C’s students which is where the growth happens, and is one of the many great features of A4A shows.
Well done to everyone - so proud of you all.

The team competition is great fun and demands a high level of consistency across both an individual and a relay run. All the dogs were fantastic and the handlers did ok too!

We have had a busy couple of months starting Hazy’s Agility Show adventure. We have done quite a few shows, a mixture of kennel club and A4A. The latter being brilliant for young dogs because you are allowed to run Not for Competition and train in the ring.

Hazy was quite distracted earlier on, not worried I think - but very interested in everything going on. We did lots of playing in the ring to focus on one and two jumps and proofing contacts and weaves. It also took us awhile to get used to being in the ring together. Every dog is different and what you may think you have in training isn’t necessarily what you will get in a competition environment.

At one of my favourite shows in Norfolk recently it all came together and she won into Grade 3 on her first day, leaving the next few days free for more practice. So proud of my little Nashdom show dog! She suits me perfectly and I’m looking forward to gradually expanding our skills whilst always hanging on to those basics!
