Dougal Update: Loads of people have been asking how he has been doing. On Thursday he had to go back to the vets as he wasn't quite right. His temperature was high and he was very close to being kept at the vets but they let him go home after giving him meds via cannula. After getting home, his wound decided to start to open up, by evening it was leaking horrible fluid. Friday morning and his temperature had come down half a degree so his meds were repeated again and then tablet antibiotics for over the weekend. His wound was dressed and needed to be changed a few times a day since, as it was leaking so much. Back for check up on Monday & again today and his temperature is still a little on the raised side ☹️ Antibiotics have now been extended into next week. Finally as of yesterday his wound has almost stopped leaking which is good.
His eating is gradually getting better and he is still not allowed any excerise. Being a spaniel, people are surprised when I tell them that he isn't bothered at all by this, he isn't bouncing off the walls, he isn't nagging me to be taken out...he has basically slept the whole time since his op 🥹
Hoping he is over the worst of it now🤞

After a very worrying time, my boy is finally back home 🥹 A huge thank you to all my clients for being so understanding and thanks for all the messages asking for Dougal updates. He hasn't been wanting to eat so they hope that now he is home, he will start to eat something.🤞 Brue is happy to have his buddy back home too.
Fingerscrossed for a smooth recovery 🐾

Barn Hunt is a fantastic activity for dogs who love to use their nose, hunt, explore and problem-solve. It gives them the opportunity to tap into those natural instincts while building confidence and, most importantly, having lots of fun along the way!
