The Woofpack The Woof Pack offer a complete range of pet care services including dog walking, pet and house sitting, pet feeding, puppy care and a pet taxi services.

We’re well into our 6th year of walking matched packs of dogs on Ashdown Forest. Many of the dogs who come out with us have been with the WoofPack since they were puppies and walking with them several times a week we’ve got to know all our dogs very well. We work with the dogs on an intuitive level which has been developed during a lifetime of owning dogs as well as running WoofPack. We collect your pet from your house in a fully ventilated, windowed Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck; the drive to Ashdown Forest is an important part of their outing so its important the dogs can see where they’re going as well as experience the sites and sound on the journey in anticipation of their walk. All walks start on the lead and are conducted with the safety, security and wellbeing of all the dogs at all times. We prefer to walk dogs off the lead unless the owner prefers otherwise or if the dog’s recall is not good. We prefer not to walk dogs with behavioural problems or aggressive tendencies. We’re insured, DBS checked, have completed a canine first aid course with the local veterinary practice (renewed every year) and licensed to walk dogs commercially on Ashdown Forest.

I've not come across any this year however I know the likely spots on Ashdon Forest.

This beautiful male adder was recently spotted basking in the warm hazy sunshine. He wasn't very impressed at having his picture taken! You are unlikely to come to any harm if you encounter one of these fantastic animals, just admire from a distance and don't go too near. They will do their best to slither off undetected. However, dog owners should be aware, especially at this time of year, that a sniffing curious nose can be struck by an adder with sometimes serious consequences. Please be adder aware when walking your dog in spring, try to keep your dog out of scrubby gorse and dry bracken, just in case...

If your dog is bitten, seek veterinary attention quickly. Carry your dog (rather than allow him or her to walk) to try and reduce the spread of venom around his/her body. Bathe the wound in cold water to help control the swelling and keep your dog quiet and warm as you travel to the vet. Treatment includes pain relief, treatment of swelling and shock and in some cases anti-venom, if available.
