This week in puppy class it was all about food. Teaching owners about the importance of feeding their puppy's a good diet & how to read food labels. Lots of mental stimulation ideas, a choice game to find out what each puppy found rewarding & the importance of building trust around items of importance. 🐾 DOG FIRST AID TRAINING COURSE - Please share

What would you do if your dog suddenly became injured or seriously unwell?

Emergencies can happen at home, on walks, or in the car, and panic makes it harder to know what to do.

GIVE YOURSELF THE CONFIDENCE TO HELP YOUR DOG.

On the course you will learn:

• What a Dog First Aiders Role is – what we can and can't do.
• First Aid equipment
• Dog Assessment – foundations, examination
• Vital signs – normal parameters and how to check
• Canine CPR – including hands on practice using the dummy dogs
• Seizures - how to respond
• Cuts and bleeds – including practical pressure bandaging techniques and a chance for everyone to practice on the dummies
• GDV (bloat) - risk factors and symptoms
• Recognising the signs of shock and what to do
• First aid for burns and scalds
• Toxicity (poisoning) – symptoms, common poisons
• Heat stroke – risk factors, prevention, early signs and first aid actions
• Choking – first aid actions

This course is suitable for dog owners, walkers, sitters, groomers, trainers and anymore who cares for dogs.

On successful completion of the course, you will receive a 3-year CPD qualification.

There will also be the opportunity to purchase First Aid Kits.
