Clymping Dog Sanctuary We take in unwanted and abandoned dogs and also dogs from people who cannot care for them anymore. Our sponsorship scheme supports these types of dogs.

Clymping Dog Sanctuary is a Registered Charity under the Charities Act 1960 - Charity Reg No. 279937

Clymping first opened its doors back in 1952 by Mrs Kathleen Grellier and the then Duchess of Norfolk. As a sanctuary, we aim to find homes for any waifs & strays or otherwise unwanted dogs. We want all our dogs to be properly cared for and to feel safe and loved not only in the time they are with us but also when they go to their forever homes. Our policy is to never put a clinically healthy dog down which means we sometimes have a few long-term "stayers" until the right owner comes along. From time to time, we do have dogs we take in that have health problems that require veterinary treatment. These health problems can sometimes be resolved after a few visits but sometimes they require regular checks or medication. Sometimes we have dogs that we feel will never be homed due to their condition or behavioural problems. It costs £20 per dog per day to house, feed and care for them. Add to that any vet bills (which can be huge!) on top of this means we rely on the generosity of others to help keep our shelter open, so we can help give all the gorgeous dogs the lives they deserve. The wonderful Sussex Stompers Line Dancin’ with Denise held a line dancing event for us on Sunday!

They organised everything and sold out really quickly! The day looked absolutely fantastic and they raised an amazing £800 for the sanctuary!!

To have people organise such a successful event and to choose us to raise money for is simply incredible. It means the world that people are helping us continue doing the work we do❤️🥹

Difficult mental health is something a lot of people will share and still something not a lot are comfortable to share•

One thing that seems to always help is a dog. Dogs have a magical ability to make the day better! A lot of purpose is created from having a dog rely on you everyday• They need you and we need them just as much!

Some of the dogs from this year that have brought so much joy to a heavy world! (Nearly all are in new homes bringing joy to their forever families)

🤠🐾 Tomorrow we’re stepping out for a pawsome cause! 💜

Sussex Stompers is ready for a fantastic afternoon of line dancing, laughter and fundraising for Clymping Dog Sanctuary!

We’ve got two fun-filled sessions lined up — an Absolute Beginners session to welcome new dancers, followed by a High Beginners session to keep those boots moving! 👢🎶

Alongside the dancing, our table-top sales will help raise much-needed funds for the dogs in the sanctuary’s care. 🐶💕

🎉 We’re FULLY BOOKED, and we can’t wait to get the fun started!
