Best Buddies Pet & Fishing Supplies is now on Horn Street in Cheriton, only a short drive from Hythe, with free parking directly outside.

🎣 What a brilliant day for junior fishing! 🎣

Yesterday’s Cinque Ports Junior Angling Competition looked to be a fantastic success, with around 30 juniors taking part and every one of them receiving a prize.

We were really pleased to donate some prizes from Best Buddies Pet & Fishing Supplies, alongside donations from the local club and others in the community. Hopefully the juniors enjoyed them, and more importantly, had a great day by the water.

It’s brilliant to see young anglers getting involved, learning, competing and enjoying the sport. A big well done to everyone who took part, and a huge thank you to the organisers and everyone who helped make it happen.

And to top the weekend off nicely… a big win for the England fans last night too! 🏆⚽

☀️ Keeping pets cool in this heat ☀️

This heatwave can be really tough on our pets, so it’s worth taking a few simple steps to help keep them comfortable:

🐾 Walk dogs early morning or later in the evening
🐾 Keep plenty of fresh water available
🐾 Make sure they have shade and somewhere cool to rest
🐾 Never leave pets in cars, conservatories or hot rooms
🐾 Watch out for hot pavements on paws

🐾🎣 **A huge thank you to all our lovely customers — old and new!**

We had a **record-breaking bank holiday weekend**, and we’re honestly so grateful to everyone who popped in, stocked up, told people about us, shared our posts, or supported us since the move.

Moving to Cheriton felt like a big step at the time, but weekends like this really remind us what a great decision it was. It’s been brilliant seeing so many familiar faces from Hythe, along with lots of new customers finding us too.

🎣 **You never quite know what’s going to turn up on the end of the line!**

A cheeky light-gear perch session on the **Royal Military Canal in Hythe** turned into something a bit special this morning — this cracking canal carp decided to make an appearance instead. What a lovely surprise catch!

It’s a great reminder that local waters can always throw up something unexpected, whether you’re out with a lure rod, float setup or just having a quick session when you get the chance.

We’ve got plenty in store for local anglers, including coarse, carp, lure and sea fishing bits, plus fresh bait when available.
