South East Kent Cats Protection

South East Kent Cats Protection We are the South East Kent branch of Cats Protection, the UK's largest cat welfare charity.

Rescuing and rehoming cats in the Folkestone and Hythe surrounding areas. Cats Protection's vision is to ensure that every cat is given the chance of a life where it will be treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. If you think you could offer a loving and caring home to one of our cats then please phone on 0345 260 1253 or see our website for our 'contact us' form (www.folkesto

nehythe.cats.org.uk). We may have a selection of cats and kittens in our care looking for new homes. Before leaving our care, all cats over six months old are blood tested for FIV (feline aids) and Leukaemia, are neutered, and microchipped. Cats under six months are too young for blood tests and neutering, but as with all our cats, have up-to-date vaccinations, are wormed, flea treated and vet checked. Any kittens we home are given a neutering voucher for neutering at 16 weeks. If you need your cat neutered and are in receipt of benefits or a low wage we may be able to help with the cost, please phone 0345 260 1253 number and ask for neutering and someone will call you back.

Dory would like her forever home, can you help? Please call us on 0345 260 1253
Dory is 9yrs old and loves to snuggle on your lap and will keep you company all night. She is getting used to being petted after being a stray for a few years. She loves toys and her foster Mum is very fond of her and she is good with visitors too
Dory is looking for her forever home, could that be you?
She would prefer a home with no other cats, dogs or small children and a safe space outdoors to explore.

Microchipping is a quick and safe way to help make sure your cat finds their way back to you if they ever go missing.

A vet or trained professional inserts a tiny chip - about the size of a grain of rice - under the skin between your cat’s shoulders. It only takes a few seconds and shouldn’t cause much discomfort. That chip holds a unique ID number, which links to your contact details on a national database.

Benefits of microchipping your cat:

Better chance of being reunited: If your cat is found and scanned, they can be traced straight back to you.

It’s permanent: Unlike collars or tags, chips don’t fall off.

Proof of ownership: Helpful if there’s a dispute over a lookalike cat.

Cat flaps that know your cat: Some flaps scan chips, so only your cat can come and go.

Peace of mind: If your indoor cat gets out or your explorer goes missing, you’ve got a solid way to get them home.

Don’t forget to keep your contact details up to date on the microchip register!
