In June we had to let go and say a very difficult goodbye to our dearest Reggie. One of the original cute club who is so very missed and there is not a day that goes by without him popping into my head. Gone way too soon but his life was so enriched by his human family and his fur baby friends. He was such a brave little soldier in the last months of his life and his character still shone bright. There are thankfully so many memories, captured in photos and videos from the last 5 years. The first time he came back to the house, he taught me never to fuss a dog whilst holding something edible in the other hand. Toast, babybels and not to forget the highly esteemed pork pie have all vanished, without a trace, in years gone by. One of his most recent, and admired (with Rolo looking on in awe) accomplishments being a snack crunchie from a (not so) well hidden Christmas selection box. Reggie was the team captain of the cute club, chief (a title fiercely contended) squirrel chaser and an accomplished digger (usually easier to get a picture of him upside down). He also earned many badges in Dog Wrestling - gaining his stripes with Rolo but then passing on his talents to many others including Ned and Ygritte. We were often thankful that Reggie was white with long fluffy legs so that it was easier to catch a fleeting glimpse of him in dense forests. He also had an eye for fashion sporting his Red fleecy Santa suit in colder months and his black lycra during his Flashdance era. I will particularly miss the fact that he would always let me boop his nose. We take comfort from the fact that he will be with his older brother Rufus over the Rainbow Bridge. They can catch up on a tale or two whilst Rufus adorns is smoking jacket, slippers and pipe, and whilst Reggie doesn't let him get a word in. Sending love always to the boys. Thank you Susannah for sharing Reggie with us.
