Well 32 years ago at Fayre Oaks sale in Hereford Market we had to fend off the Dutch bid to secure Sunwillow Quest and today at the WPCS Autumn Sale we had a bit of a "ding d**g" again with the Netherlands to bring BRYNSEION SCHIAPERELLI back to Wales, together with Rod Lewis, Cwmmeudwy where she was conceived.
Being the first daughter of Heniarth Sh-boom and by Heniarth Yarra Glen she joins her sisters both here and at Cwmmeudwy to continue the family line.
Chuffed to bits!

Well it's less than 24hrs until Heniarth Sh-boom hands over her crown as the 2025 Horse of the Year Price Family In-Hand Supreme Champion, a title that we never once imagined would come the way of our small stud...so to everyone contesting it tomorrow..."Go for it...it could be you!" Best of luck.
Meanwhile her family continues to fly the flag with 5 out of the top 9 Open Ridden A's yesterday going back to our foundation mare Sunwillow Quest, Sh-boom's great grandmother, and tomorrow we also look forward to a minimum of 6 of her descendants in the Lead Rein and an incredible 12 out of 18 Section As in the First Ridden also tracing back to her via Heniarth sires or her daughter Sunwillow Xtra at Thistledown!
Meanwhile Sh-boom is grazing away quite happily in retirement.....but you never know!! Never say never. 😉😉
Thanks to Darren Price and family for their continued support of this special competition.

Thank you Carmarthenshire Welsh Pony and Cob Association for the great welcome. It was a pleasure to catch up with old friends and new!

A busy week for us and for the stock of HENIARTH WOOD-WIND, which included a flying visit to the Czech Republic which was spurred along by news that his son HENIARTH STAND-UP qualified for the Horse of the Year Show Junior Ridden class at Moreton in the Marsh Show, to add to his First Ridden qualification, ridden beautifully again by Posy Lindsay, produced by Team Holder. Then this weekend the news of his daughter RHOSON KIZZIE collecting her fourth French National Championship for Ingrid Delaitre before standing Reserve Supreme of the Show, only beaten by the Mountain Pony daughter of Colne Turbo whose foal at foot by HENIARTH QUIP was Youngstock Champion Mountain Pony for Aurelie Tuduri!
Now onto weaning time.....

Stud news instead of show news...
EYARTH ASTER
Two year old c**t by Eyarth Water Pepper by Rhoson Shem ex Eyarth Aiyana by Heniarth Wood-Wind, had a tidy up in readiness for his stallion licence that he duly passed. Currently standing just under 13hh.
He'll take a while to fill his frame but heading in the right direction we think with limb, depth and quality.
"Slowly slowly catchy monkey" as they say! 😉
Co-owned with Tooravale Welsh Ponies, Australia.

Congratulations to the Dutch Welsh Stamboek on organising the 23rd International Welsh Show 2026 celebrating the 125th year since the formation of the The Welsh Pony and Cob Society in Wales.
We were proud to hear results coming through that included some Heniarth breeding; in the Section B's Whisper de l'Aurore (Heniarth Wood-Wind x Etincelle Ravignon) won his stallion class for Danish owner Ann Louise W Jørgensen, produced in the Netherlands by Stal Ysselvliedts and French owned Rhoson Kizzie (Heniarth Wood-Wind x Rhoson Sipsi) bred here by Glenys Rhoson Davies, and purchased by Ingrid Delaitre as a foal. Patrick Wormgoor Newchallenge Welsh Ponies received many compliments on his Royal Welsh winning Heniarth Do-Re-Mi (Tooravale Houston (Aus) x Rhoson Dorti to stand fourth.
Meanwhile in the Mountain Pony division it was pleasing to see Vechtzicht Carlotta (Heniarth Yesteryear x Vechtzicht Cindy C) win a good barren mare class for Remco Dobber Vechtzichtstud Breukelen, produced by Peter Wijffelaars.
All in all a successful event to witness from afar. Congratulations to all the participants.
