Weekly update! 🌾

The weather has been cooler this week which means we have been able to be out and about!

We’ve visited Cissbury ring and Honey suckle this week, exploring all the different scents and landscapes🐾

I am very proud of our dogs who have made such great progress since joining the gang and can’t wait to watch them grow 🌼

Next week looks a little drizzly but we will see where the weather takes us☀️

Another Heatwave☀️

This means we have been changing our routines to keep the dogs safe and happy!

One of the ways we do this, is by changing our usual walks to fun inside games to help keep your dogs entertained 🐶

Today we used some of the toys to create a “find it” game where the dog had to use her nose to find treats hidden under and inside different toys🧸

This helps to regulate their nervous system by providing a boost in dopamine and endorphins.
It also helps to tap into their natural hunting instincts, which means that they are burning energy while using their brains😁

☀️Hot Weather Reminder☀️

With hot temperatures again this month, it’s really important to remember that dogs can really struggle with the heat! 🐾

That’s why I will always put your dogs safety and comfort first!🐶

On warm days walks may be changed to pop-in sessions where we will play a range of puzzle games and work your dogs brain power, still tiring them out but in a safe way! ✅

🐾 Enrichment 🐾

With the continuation of the heatwave, we have changed our walks to enrichment sessions☀️

We have been focusing on burning energy in fun, safe ways which engage your pups brains and still tire them out!

🐶Here’s some enrichment ideas you can try with your dogs!

• Lick mats, these are a great way to get you dog to engage their brain and find the best way to get all the treats out of the little holes.
They also release endorphins and oxytocin, which helps to regulate their body and calm them down😋

•Snuffle mats, these help to build your dogs scent based skills and are super good for dogs who are scent driven and engages their brain👃

•Treat search, this is when you scatter treats around the room or grass and help your dog find them, this is brilliant at allowing your dog to tap into their natural scavenging instincts and can help the release of dopamine, making them feel calmer and more settled🍪

Hopefully this helps you find ways to exercise your pooch while avoiding the heat and keeping them safe and happy🐾🐶

🐾Morning walks🐾

As the hot weather increases we have been changing our walk to earlier morning walks to avoid the heat☀️

Instead we have been doing lots of enrichment during the day instead, such as -

🌊Water play
😋 Lick mats
🍦Dog friendly ice pops
🙈Hide and seek with toys and treats

🐾Taking it slow🐾

With the recent heatwave, we have been enjoying our walks in the later evenings and early mornings, to avoid stress and overheating!☀️

The dogs have loved their slow walks around the parks and having a splash in the pool 🌊

🐶We do still have availability on Monday and Tuesday all day and Wednesday mornings, with some flexible spaces during the week🐶

Due to weather conditions hours may differ to allow your pets to stay safe while enjoying time outside ☀️

🐾A walk around Highdown🐾

We have been loving our walks up the highdown hill lately!

It has so many routes around it that keep the dogs busy🐶

The wooded area is perfect for finding new smells and the open fields allow them to burn off some of that energy🌳

Hi everyone!

My name is Ellie, the face behind Bark and Bramble dog walking!

I have always had a huge love for dogs and being outdoors, so starting my dog walking business felt like the perfect fit🐶

Whether your dog loves long countryside walks, sniffy adventures, or just some company while you’re busy, I’m here to help give them safe, fun, and caring walks tailored to their needs 🐾

These two in the photo are my own little sidekicks, Evie and Murphy who have inspired me to take on this new adventure 💜🩵

🐶A little more about me-

I have my L2 in animal husbandry,
L3 extended in animal care and welfare, and my first year HND in animal management.

I worked at the Dogs Trust as a Veterinary Nurse Assistant, where I gained experience with all kinds of dogs.

I have my canine first aid training certificate, and my canine behaviour and training certificates.
