I am a North Camp Based Dog Walker and Dog Home Boarder/Doggie Daycare provider specialising in long woodland interesting walks with a maximum of 4-5 dogs per walk- ensuring your pet gets lots of attention and care. I have a IMDT Level 3 qualification in professional daycare and dog home boarding and a canine first aid certificate (as does my daughter). I have fostered Lurcher Dogs on behalf of Southern Lurcher Rescue for many years, and as with most rescue dogs, it has given me the experience to understand behaviours. I will collect and drop off your dog but do not include travel time as part of the walk and your dog will get a full hour’s walk. References are available on request.

What a way to end the working week with these smiley doggies.
So happy to have Daisy the Dalmatian back on walks, she brought her energy to an already very energetic group and wow, did they all have a great time!
All the dogs today don’t walk together every week but the Canterbury Canines family have all been carefully chosen for being sociable, kind, happy and willing to have fun. This worked perfectly today.

Every licenced dog home boarder has a thorough inspection by the council to ensure our homes meet the criteria set out by DEFRA. They check for secure 6ft fencing, every room where a dog goes is checked for ventilation and enough space, paperwork is checked to ensure we are completing meet and greets and trial overnights, that we are ensuring every dog is up to date with their vaccinations and that we are completing daily records such as where dogs were walked, for how long and with which other dogs, times fed and general behaviour.
All dogs in my care are treated like my own and are in an environment where they feel safe and happy.

MEET & GREETS

It’s a mandatory requirement for every licenced dog home boarder to complete a meet and greet plus trial overnight. These are very useful to assess that a guest dog is happy and feels safe in our environment, gets along with resident dogs and dogs that will be around on daycare during the week. I like any dog staying with me to feel like they are on holiday and look forward to being here.

We met the very lovely Lottie this weekend. Her owners wanted her to stay on lead for the walk which I would, of course, follow any requests. For me, I always find new dogs meeting on a walk works really well as they all have plenty of space to get used to each other and feel very comfortable together when we go back home. My own dogs and Brodi (who walks weekly with me and was boarding this weekend) along with Bella joined us and Lottie and it was a lovely walk with no tension.
Lottie is a proper ‘humans’ dog who loves cuddles and all my family thought she was fabulous.
I sent lots of pics to her owners so they knew she was OK. And she passed her meet and greet with flying colours and we move on to trial overnight. Boarding dates are pencilled in pending successful overnight 👌

Lottie’s owners (without Lottie) were also invited to view my home earlier in the week so they could have peace of mind about where she would stay

A true ‘home from home’ boarding experience for lovely Brodi this weekend. I’ve been taking her out on walks for about a decade now and she knows all my family along with my own dogs Penny & Buddy (who we often bump into on walks at the Ranges) so she felt very comfortable.
Brodi also loves a swim, always has so took her to West Wittering today for two long walks and a snooze in the camper in between 💖

I recently attended my annual MoD briefing that then allows me to walk the dogs in my care at places like this!
Every commercial dog walker in this area is required to pay for a permit to walk on MoD land but wow, it’s worth it. Such a beautiful sight to watch the season change 💖
We didnt bump in to a soul the whole 60 minute walk and had such a lovely time, I went straight back for the second walk

I sometimes wonder if you guys think my home really smells of dogs 😳 especially after a rainy day when up to eight dogs can be here. Ahh the smell of wet doggy’s, not really how we want our home to smell of!

I have a strict routine after the dogs have been dropped back, and I definitely don’t want my family and friends to feel like they’re in a kennel!

I love my Hoover, my steam cleaner and especially my dog friendly candles and once my clean is complete, you would never know eight dogs have been here!

Licenced dog home boarders have strict policies to adhere to when it comes to cleanliness and I want the dogs in my care and their owners to know I operate to the highest standards in keeping my environment clean and tidy. Helps to be a clean freak too 😜
