9-year-old, female, Maine C**n was presented with recurrence of a peripheral vestibular syndrome. A ventral osteotomy of the left tympanic bulla was previously performed. An MRI of the head was performed.
There is a lesion extending from the horizontal portion of the left external ear canal, adjacent to the tympanic membrane (orange arrows), occupying the tympanic bulla (pink arrows) with intracranial extension, as an extra-axial lesion (blue arrows). The lesion shows a mixed signal intensity on T2W, mainly hyperintense compared to the musculature, is slightly hyperintense on T1W and has a marked and homogeneous post-contrast enhancement. The lesion also affects the soft tissues adjacent to the tympanic bulla (green arrows).

Associated with this lesion, there is a mild expansion of the tympanic bulla, with thickening of its wall (pink arrows). In addition, there is a defect in the ventral aspect of the wall of the bulla, corresponding to the location of the previous osteotomy described in the history (yellow arrow).

14-years-old female Siberian Husky. An acute fracture of the right femur was seen. A CT of the right femur and thorax was performed.
There is a complete and oblique fracture of the distal diaphysis of the right femur, with caudomedial displacement of the distal aspect of the right femur (blue arrows). There is marked permeative osteolysis along the distal diaphysis of the femur, with disruption and thinning of the cortex (green arrows) with a wide transition zone. At this level, there is a soft tissue lesion with moderate contrast enhancement affecting the medullary cavity of the bone (pink arrows).

7-years-old male crossbreed with acute non-ambulatory tetraparesis. A cervical MRI was performed.

There is a decrease in volume and signal intensity of the nucleus pulposus at the intervertebral disc space of C3-C4 (green arrow). At this level, there is a small extradural lesion with a minimal amount of hypointense material on T2W located at the ventral and central aspect of the vertebral canal (orange arrows). This material extends cranially and towards the left at the caudal aspect of C3. It occupies approximately 10% of the diameter of the vertebral canal and slightly displaces the spinal cord. There is also a mild attenuation of the dorsal subarachnoid space at the caudal aspect of C3. In addition, there is an intramedullary hyperintense lesion on T2W, dorsal to the intervertebral space, running from the caudal aspect of C3 up to the medial aspect of C4, mainly lateralized to the left, occupying approximately 50% of the diameter of the spinal cord (pink arrows). There are no areas of signal void on T2*.

5-months-old female Weimaraner with fever, vomiting, cough and joint pain, as well as pain when opening the mouth. A full body CT-scan was performed.

The distal metaphysis of both radius and ulna shows the same lesions (right>left). There are multiple moth-eaten areas of bone lysis creating a band running parallel to the physis surrounded by a hyperattenuating region with ill-defined margins (pink arrows). There is a mild solid and irregular periosteal reaction at the distal metaphysis of the ulna (blue arrow) and radius (red arrows). In both forelimbs, there is a hypoattenuating candle flame-like area extending from the distal physis of the ulna, proximally along the metaphysis and distal diaphysis (green arrows).

The patient shows other osseous lesions in different areas, highly suggestive of metaphyseal osteopathy.

6-years-old, male, DSH cat with chronic coughing, FIV positive. Alveolar lung pattern in ventral lung areas was seen on X-rays. A thoracic CT-scan was performed.
