After 15 months missing, lovely Socks has finally been reunited with his family 💙

Socks was found all the way in Winterbourne and brought into a veterinary practice, where he was identified thanks to his microchip. He had travelled such a long way, and without a chip it would have been almost impossible to get him safely back home.

Stories like this are such an important reminder of why microchipping matters. Since June 2024, it is now a legal requirement for cats over 20 weeks old in England to be microchipped and have up-to-date contact details.

Please make sure your pet’s microchip details are registered correctly and kept updated if you move house or change phone number, it really can make all the difference 🐾

Sunny and Tiger were in with us last week for their dental procedures 🦷🐱💛

These two were absolutely adorable together afterwards, all snuggled up like they were whispering little secrets to each other 🥹

We hope you’re both recovering well at home with plenty of treats and cuddles!

Daisy 🐾💛

7 months old and in for her vaccines. She was a little unsure at first (as many are!), but it didn’t take long before her confidence shone through ✨

By the end of her visit she was paws up at reception, proudly letting everyone know she’d smashed it 🐶👏

We love seeing our patients grow in confidence with each visit, it makes such a difference for future trips 🩺

Well done, Daisy! 🌟

One of the most important parts of post surgery recovery ❤️‍🩹

They prevent licking or chewing at the surgical site. As even a small lick can introduce bacteria, cause irritation, and delay healing. It can lead to infection and even the wound reopening, which we want to avoid!

Inflatable collar: These sit around the neck like a travel pillow. They’re often more comfortable than a traditional cone and allow better peripheral vision, while still helping prevent access to the wound.

Cone collar: The classic plastic cone. While not always their favourite fashion accessory, it is very effective and sometimes the best choice for determined lickers or more flexible pets who can still reach their wound with other options.

Medical pet suit: A soft fabric suit that covers the surgical site. Many pets find these more comfortable than a cone and they allow them to move around more normally. They’re a great option for calmer pets who tolerate wearing clothing.

Every pet is different; we are always happy to advise on what option or options would work best for your pet. Our goal is simple, a smooth recovery and a beautifully healed pet!

If you’re unsure which option to choose, we’re here to help every step of the way💛

If you’ve ever been helped by Donna, you’ll know just how special she is!
