WE’RE NOW HIRING! 🚨
We’re looking for one lovely new person to join our team at FEF Pet Club! 🐾
📍 Gosport • Fareham • Whiteley & surrounding areas
This will initially be part-time, starting with a smaller number of dogs and clients and gradually building towards full-time as you gain confidence, get to know how FEF works and your regular client base grows.
We’re looking for somebody who genuinely wants something long-term, loves working with dogs and wants to become a proper part of our little team.
We’re looking for someone who can start shadowing with us as soon as possible. You’ll have the opportunity to come along on walks and visits, meet different dogs, learn their routines and get comfortable with how we do everything at FEF.
We’ll gradually build up your workload as your confidence grows, and you’ll be fully supported throughout. There will always be somebody at the end of the phone if you need advice, have a question or just want a second opinion on something. 🐶
A little about the role:
• Starting part-time with the opportunity to build towards full-time
• Paid hourly
• Monday–Friday during normal daytime working hours
• Your workload will gradually build over time
• Opportunity to develop your own regular round of dogs and clients
• Plenty of shadowing and hands-on training before working independently
• Ongoing support from myself and the rest of the FEF team
• Some equipment supplied for use while working with us
• Team WhatsApp for support, advice and general team chatter
• Opportunities for additional weekend, Bank Holiday and overnight pet-sitting work if wanted
The role is on a self-employed subcontractor basis through FEF Pet Club rather than PAYE employment. This means you would be responsible for managing your own tax and National Insurance. Full details of how everything works will of course be discussed before starting.
🐾 WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
You absolutely need to LOVE dogs but we’re looking for experience and confidence around them too!
You must:
• Have previous hands-on experience working with or handling dogs
• Be confident with different breeds, sizes and temperaments, including larger and bully breeds
• Be reliable, our clients and dogs depend on us, so this one is a biggie!
• Have a full UK driving licence and suitable transport
• Be available Monday–Friday during normal working hours
• Be comfortable working independently once fully trained
• Be comfortable using your phone for client updates, reports and photos
• Hold Canine First Aid or be willing to complete a course
• Be prepared to work all year round and in all weather 🌧️☀️
Dog walking unfortunately isn’t just sunny fields, cute photos and cuddles 😂 There’s rain, mud, hairy cars and plenty of poo bags involved too!
More than anything, we want someone who genuinely wants to become part of FEF. Someone who wants to build relationships with their regular dogs and clients, grow their workload over time and hopefully stay with us for the long run. 🤍
You’ll be working independently once you’re ready, but you’ll never feel like you’re completely on your own.
