Can you help? We are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, after an attempted robbery in Gosport
At some time between 1pm and 2.30pm on Thursday, 29 July the victim was walking a dog along the alley way behind Sedgley Grove.
A van pulled up alongside him, which had entered the alleyway from Chantry Road. Two men jumped out of the rear of the vehicle. One of the men then pointed a knife at the victim, making threats and demanding he hand the dog over.
The victim took one of the two dog leads off the dog, and began swinging it around at the men until it hit the one with the knife, making him drop the knife.
The other man then picked up the knife and they both ran back to the van empty handed, which sped off in the direction of Rydal Road.
The man with the knife is described as: Asian, aged 25 to 35, with short dark hair and wearing dark coloured tracksuit.
The other man is described as: Asian, with short dark hair, wearing a dark coloured tracksuit and Adidas trainers.
The driver of the van is described as being Asian.
The van was described as a new style white transit.
