☀️ 🌳 Grass seed season! 🌳 ☀️

Not many people are aware of the dangers of grass seeds. These pictures show the seeds lodged in a dog’s paw which I was grooming. Currently, I’m checking every dog for grass seeds. They can be found anywhere on your dog’s body, whether that be eyes, ears, nose or paws! Checking your dog daily must be a priority.

“Grass seeds are sharp, barbed plant awns that pose a severe physical hazard to dogs by piercing their skin and migrating inside the body. They frequently lodge in a dog's paws, ears, eyes, and nose, requiring prompt checks and often professional veterinary intervention.”

I can’t quite believe the heat we’ve had in the UK recently☀️

Thank you to every one for putting up with my sporadic early morning starts when it’s just slightly too hot in the afternoons to be grooming.

I’m in the process of getting proper Air-conditioning installed ready for next summer to prevent the heat getting in the way of any grooms. 🤞🏼🐾🐶

*I had an incident yesterday of a client being an hour late picking up, I was unable to contact them as I only had 1 contact number for them. So this is vital I have a back up number for situation like this, you never know what’s going to happen while you’re waiting to collect.

If the weather doesn’t show to be cooling down by tomorrow, we will be having to move the afternoon clients to the morning (early) of each day - last time the heat wave hit we were starting at 5am 🙈😂

It’s just not worth the risk grooming dogs in such high heat. 🥵 ☀️

The risk of heat stroke is very real! Please be carful with your dogs, they simply just aren’t used to this type of heat.

I will keep everyone posted 🫶🏼🐶🐾
