👀This is something everyone should see.👀

When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

GOOD AS GOLDEN DOG TRAINING - Original poster 🐾

Recently I read "If you have a dog walker, you shouldn't have a dog."

This is my boy, he has a dog walker 2 days a week, on my busiest days. The days when I'm too wiped out to offer him the decent romp in lovely natural environments that he deserves.

'Dog walker' is such an understated title.

These guys are the bridge between the modern reality our dogs have been thrust into, that's so at odds with their genetics.

The vast majority of dogs were not born to be content with 15 minute pavement walks, but you need to work to pay the bills. I get it.

Did you know behaviour problems rarely occur in nature?

Our dogs are captive animals.

Sit with that one as long as you need.

They were not designed for sofa snoozing and short restrictive walks on a tight lead on paved ground.

When behaviour problems occur in captive zoo animals, we recognise it as the wrong environment for these animals to thrive....

In dogs, we just shoot for compliance and slap on a lazy excuse like 'dominance' or 'stubborn'.

Good dog walkers are a modern day gift to our dogs, and if you use one, you are an ace guardian who chooses to recognise the innate needs of your dog, and respect them for who they are.

You're not a lazy guardian; you're an enlightened one.

Bertie and his girlfriend (one of many) exploring the woods!!

Its important to keep you're pooches mentally stimulated on a walk, making sure that get variety out of every walk.

In these conditions (hot/muggy) its important to put your pets welfare first. Walking in woodland with lots of shade or at the beach with a lovely breeze helps keep them cool - keep an eye out for top tips to defeat the heat 🔥

As I pull myself out of bed, wiping the sleep from my eyes.

I look towards the window, hoping to see blue skies.

Because the job I have can be hard, when the rain, wind and snow comes through.

But regardless of the weather, I have a special job to do!

I put on my boots, restock my treats and fill up the water can.

Carry it all out, poo bags and towels too and jump in my white van.

Such games to be played of ball and of chase, puddles to splash in, its really quite ace!

For I am a dog walker.

And proud I am too!

I hold the responsibility and the trust given to me.

And for a dogs owner, that doesn't come easily.

You want to know your furry friend is OK!

You want to know if they've had fun today!

So here is my pledge and forever it stands true...

I'll take care of your dog how I take care of mine too!

I'll love them, I'll keep them safe and make sure they have a good time!

I'll build a relationship out of love and respect! Just watch how that love will shine!

For your dog becomes my dog, if only for today or an hour.

But I'm here for your dog no matter the weather, be it sun, snow or shower!

For I am a dog walker.

And proud I am too! ❤
