At the moment there are several dogs in the area who have been affected by a severe and fast onset vomiting and haemorrhaging diarrhoea illness.
None of the dogs attending my classes have been affected but clients that I haven’t seen for a little while have reported it to me.

In my veterinary friends network I know that many vet practices have seen extreme cases where the dogs have become extremely dehydrated and unwell and some dogs have died.

If your dog has diarrhoea or vomiting phone your vet practice for advice immediately, keep them in the car or outside rather than in the waiting room.

This illness has affected fully vaccinated dogs and I know of several cases where one dog in the home has been badly affected but other dogs in the home are completely fine.

Just a gentle reminder that dog walking is not just “walking around with dogs” 😅
It’s slipping through fields that no longer qualify as land… just mud with opinions.
It’s being dragged by dogs who have suddenly discovered Olympic-level strength.
It’s rain coming at you sideways for absolutely no reason.
Boots? Soaked.
Trousers? Muddy up to places mud shouldn’t reach.
Hands? Frozen.
Dignity? Left somewhere in the field around 10am.
And yet…
All dogs walked.
All tails wagging.
And I’ll still be back tomorrow doing it all again 🙃🐕
Because apparently, I love this job.
