It's International Dog Day and I need to give Ruckus a shout out here.
I'll be honest we didn't have a great start, I think he came along at the wrong time and I really struggled to connect with him - feels strange saying that about a dog. Ruckus on the other hand was obsessed with me from the get go.
However he has been a life saver. I don't know what would have become of me after I lost Claire if Ruckus wasn't here. Each morning I need to get out of bed for him, doesn't matter how rubbish I'm feeling, I need to drag myself out of bed. He gets me out the house each day when most days I have no other reason to leave the house.
I owe him so much.
He is a complete muppet. He loses his tiny little mind whenever he gets any interaction from people, even a smile and he is gone. I wish I could have a 2 minute conversation with him to explain if he just chilled out he would get all the attention he wants from people 😅
When there is no one around he is really chilled and so clever. It took about 2 minutes to teach him to pull my socks off and put them in the washing basket. He even taught himself to lift Claire's hand back onto her knee if he arm fell off her arm rest and she couldn't pick it back up ❤️
He is an adventure dog at heart, can go all day. Think it's impossible to tire him out. His favourite thing in the world is retrieving his toy from the water. Would do it all day long.
Thank you Ruckus for giving me a reason to get up each morning.
