Happy New Year from the Racks4Reptiles crew! 🎉✨

This year’s message comes straight from Larry (who insists he’s in charge), Pork Chop (who runs the snack department), and their very tired but very devoted human slaves.

2025 was full of food, cozy hides, warm basking spots, and plenty of attitude from the residents. We survived shedding seasons, feeding days, and the daily reminder that we may work here… but they run the place.

Here’s to more weird and wonderful animals, happy healthy pets, and lots of smiles in 2026. Thank you to everyone who supports us and loves these little (and not-so-little) creatures as much as we do.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy New Year — from Larry, Pork Chop, and the humans who exist solely to serve 🥳🐍🦎✨

Remember we are closed for the next couple of days, but will be open again from Saturday to welcome you all for the start of 2026!

🐸 White’s Tree Frog: A Friendly Amphibian Favorite! 🐸

White’s Tree Frogs (also known as Dumpy Tree Frogs) are one of the most popular pet frogs—and for good reason! Their calm temperament, adorable expressions, and relatively easy care make them a great choice for both beginners and experienced reptile & amphibian keepers.

🌿 Basic Care Overview
📦 Enclosure

Minimum 18x18x24 inch vertical enclosure for one adult

Arboreal setup with climbing branches, sturdy plants, and hiding spots

Secure lid—these frogs can climb very well!

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Daytime temps: 75–85°F (24–29°C)

Night drop: down to 70°F (21°C)

Humidity: 40–60%, with daily light misting

Always provide a shallow dish of dechlorinated water

💡 Lighting

12-hour day/night cycle

Low-level UVB is recommended to support overall health (not too intense!)

🍽️ Diet
Live insects such as crickets, dubia roaches, and mealworms

Feed adults 2–3 times per week

Always dust insects with calcium and vitamin supplements

Size rule: prey should be no larger than the space between the frog’s eyes

🧤 Handling & Temperament
Generally calm and tolerant, but minimal handling is best

Always wash hands with no soap residue before touching

Their skin absorbs oils and chemicals easily

🐸 Fun Facts
Native to Australia & New Guinea

Known for their “smiling” face and chubby appearance

They store extra fat for dry seasons—hence the nickname Dumpy Frog
