Creating clarity π₯
Dog training isn't a black art ππ± or even luck.
And helping your dog understand the behaviours you want from them, doesn't need to be forced through "pressure" π₯ or punishment.
Using your words to create meaning β¨οΈ will build & develop behaviours.
Think π€ about what you are saying to your dog.
What does it mean to your dog?
Does their understanding match your understanding?
Are you consistent with your training, or do you chop & change what you do and what you mean?
In this video I am working on Olive's toy release, she understands:
β¨οΈ Drop = drop the toy
β¨οΈ Get it = pick up the toy
β¨οΈ Throw it = I'm going to throw the toy
β¨οΈ Go = chase the toy
β¨οΈ Yep = toy switch
I know it seems like a lot. But it becomes part of your daily conversation with your dog.
Talk to them with meaning & prevent frustration! It builds relationship π and you can have more fun together.
