Recently, we hosted a client event for producers in the west of England, including talks from our team.

Broiler Development Manager Richard Hitchiner shared practical information on preparing for the cooler weather, and vet Tom Jenkin provided an update on successes and challenges in the area and how they've been overcome.

Vet Nico van Niekerk spent the early part of his poultry career in South Africa and shared similarities and differences he's seen so far, including some of the more unusual animals our vets don't come across as part of their day job.

Last week, vet Dana Simpson attended the British Veterinary Poultry Association (BVPA) meeting, which focused on emerging and re-emerging diseases.
On Friday, Dana, who is a member of the committee, presented a clinical case titled ‘Can a flock with clinical ILT go the distance?’. It was a great opportunity to share clinical experiences and contribute to discussions on poultry health and welfare.
The BVPA holds educational and technical meetings throughout the year, which furthers the knowledge of its members from the poultry sector.

We recently supported Farmwise Devon at their educational event, helping children learn more about where their food comes from and the important role vets play in keeping poultry flocks healthy and well cared for.

This year, our vets gave the children a closer look at the anatomy of a broiler chicken, which sparked lots of interest.

Farmwise brings together around 1,800 children from primary schools across Devon, giving them a valuable insight into farming, food production and animal welfare.

We've been busy supporting university career fairs this year. Members of our team have been talking to veterinary students about our EMS and internship opportunities and what a career in poultry veterinary medicine can look like.

Our EMS placements offer hands-on experience in commercial poultry, with the opportunity to get involved in client visits, post-mortems, flock health planning, microscope work and much more, all supported by our experienced team.

Our six-month graduate internships, for new or recently graduated vets, offer the opportunity to explore the many aspects of the poultry sector through practical, on-farm training covering both poultry and game birds.

We are currently recruiting for our graduate veterinary programme in Limerick and Dungannon.

Some of our team have been out at industry events this week!

Vets Sean Wisdom and Khutso Chiloane attended the Poultry Meat Conference, taking the opportunity to hear from industry speakers.

Commercial Manager - Layers, Charles Mcleod attended the first Lancashire Poultry Club meeting of the season, which started with the annual John Ashcroft Memorial Golf Trophy.

Both events were a great opportunity to connect with people across the industry and catch up with some familiar faces.

Last week, members of our field services team attended the South West Chicken Association annual clay shoot. It was a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and be a part of this event once again.

A great session at Poultry Live 2026 last week, chaired by Rosehill Poultry’s Dave Hodson and supported by our vet Nathan Hiom and Commercial Development Manager Lee Hounsell.

Discussion included the importance of a preventative approach to flock health generally, but particularly when extending the egg production period, as well as how to mitigate risks such as Salmonella and avian influenza.

Fantastic to be part of this conference once again, thank you Poultry Network for another fantastic event.
