A much appreciated thank you! 🦟 🙏

We thought we would share this lovely handwritten 'thank you' card which our Lympstone vet team received from the field vets at our local APHA office.

We are very proud of how our team pulled together, working tirelessly to identify and treat sick livestock with Bluetongue, to report cases to the ministry, as well as to reassure and advise our clients on treatment options, as well as vaccination.

August was a very busy month across the whole practice - so this was a real morale boost during a testing time for everyone in the farming community☺️ 🐑 🐄 🐂

Exeter Calf Show 2026🐄🐄🐄

We were pleased to sponsor the Exeter Calf Show 2026 which took place at Kivells Agriculture Livestock Market last Saturday. There was a fantastic turnout with over 30 young handlers taking part, some as young as 3 years old and over 70 calves entered ranging from a few weeks old to yearlings.

⭐️🏆️ Special mention must go to Synergy clients the Collins family of Hale Farm, Honiton who turned out several well-presented heifers and came home with Reserve Champion in the Any Other Breeds Category with their Shorthorn heifer Hale Violet 82🏆️⭐️

The young handler classes opened the showing, with the Interbreed Champion Handler going to Emily Davis.

This year saw the inaugural ‘OAP Handlers’ class in aid of Cancer Research with anyone over the age of 26 invited to compete. It was a full class with no spare room in the showing ring, the parents haven’t lost their competitive streak! The class was won by Natasha Dayment and raised £180 for the charity.

A huge well done to the organisers, the stewards and the market for putting on a great event and to all who took part!

🥂 Congratulations Nick!! 🍾 🥳

Massive Congratulations from the whole Synergy team to Lympstone vet Nick Britten on passing his European Diploma exams, and becoming a European Specialist in Bovine Health Management!!

We are extremely proud to have another nationally recognised cattle specialist in our midst, and to bring this expertise to our clients in our Lympstone region! 🐄

🎉 Best of luck to our Commercial Director Sam Gayton who has made it to the final of the Farmers Weekly competition! 👏 💪🚜

After many hours of hard work and training, the final takes place at Diddly Squat Farm tomorrow!

From tyre pulling and barrel lifting to sandbag throwing and truck dragging, Sam will be put through his paces. But Britain’s Fittest Farmer isn’t just about physical strength. 25% of the points are awarded around mental wellbeing and how competitors look after themselves, recognising that being fit and healthy is about more than physical fitness. 💚

We’re incredibly proud of Sam for reaching the final and wish you the very best of luck! 🍀💪

Go smash it, Sam! We’re all behind you! 🙌

Preparing your rams for tupping? 🐏

In light of this year’s Bluetongue outbreak, we have produced a short informational video for our sheep clients, highlighting the importance of ram fertility examinations ahead of tupping.

Following advice from the Sheep Veterinary Society regarding ram fertility in the face of Bluetongue, we would encourage you to speak to your vet in good time to discuss fertility examinations and appropriate ram management ahead of the breeding season.

📞 Please do not hesitate to contact TeamSheep for further information or advice.
