The salon is being kept cool and air conditioned this week - but please don’t walk your dogs to appointments as pavements can be as hot as 60 degrees. If you can’t get to your appointment without a long walk, you may need to cancel and I will understand.

It’s a good idea to wash / wipe your dogs paws after walks 🐕🐕especially where grit has been laid.

🤔WHY ?🤔

🧂Salt / 🍙Grit can be an irritant , prolonged or repeated exposure to salt can cause dryness,cracking, and worse case burns.

Salt can also be ingested when a dog licks their paws clean after a walk, ingestion may simply cause digestive upset but could cause salt poisoning. Symptoms include…

• Vomiting and diarrhoea.
• Loss of appetite.
• Dehydration.
• Excessive thirst or urination.
• Mouth ulcerations (depending on the specific compound ingested).
• Weakness, lethargy, uncoordinated walking, or collapse.
• Tremors or seizures
