A busy weekend of tracking with UKTDA assessments and the new Beginner group starting. In coming months we have many opportunities for both beginners and more experienced teams plus the track laying course next Saturday.

There are 2 qualified trainers both with many years experience who are also UKTDA assessors and regularly track & compete with their own dogs. The training is tailored to meet the needs of each dog and handler team. Dogs love to track and it allows them to reach their full potential building a wonderful partnership with their handler as part of the journey.❤️🐾🚶‍♀️

Guest trainer John West is one of the most experienced tracking dog trainers in the country in addition to being a KC working trials judge & competitor with over 40 years experience. tracking and training dogs in many disciplines.

Tracking is suitable for all breeds and ages and sensitive dogs are very welcome. All dogs are worked individually and groups are small.

A super team to assess on the long track laid by John West. Koda well handled by Caroline negotiated the track well despite some distractions & remained focused and committed on this beautiful sunny day in Devon.

A lovely team to assess who negotiated the track accurately in a quiet, confident manner on what was a beautiful day in Devon.

Tracking Laying Day Course with John West - Saturday 2nd May 2026 from 10.30 - 4pm.

This is a really valuable course for anyone that is tracking dogs, whether just getting into the sport or the more advanced UKTDA or WT tracks. Some really good practical tips combined with the theory behind the art of tracking giving you confidence to lay your own tracks to train your dog.
The day consists of a theory session followed by practical sessions in the field and you will be supplied with handouts & everything you need.
Refreshments provided but bring a packed lunch.
Please e mail or message to register interest as limited places available. Cost £30 per person.
(Note you will not need to bring a dog for this course you will be doing the work!! But dogs can come to the venue by arrangement if settled in vehicle during course, there is an area to exercise at breaks)

So yesterday we had a great indoor fun Freework session to give the dogs noses a workout 🐽 - as the weather & ground conditions were not great for tracking!💦
We had a full compliment of 4 dogs all working individually. They all confidently explored the various stations and sensory areas - with great observations & feedback made.
Will definitely look to do again especially on a rainy day & some photos below.🐾
