Gus going out on his first hack, being expertly lead by Bill (our Mr Reliable!)

It’s that time of year that we’re getting going with backing our 3YO’s…

The hours and hours of long reigning all make sense when they leave the yard this calmly and confidently 👏🏼

🧡 Gus is a Registered Irish Draught, we expect him make 16.3h approx - we imported him as an unbroken 2YO - we don’t need to tell you how quality he is, the video speaks for itself!

Those of you who follow our page may have noticed we’re a rider down at the moment…

🤕 ❤️‍🩹🚑 🤕 ❤️‍🩹🚑

Maisie has had an unfortunate riding accident, she was thrown from a horse landing on her head which left her with a subdural haematoma (bleed to the brain 🧠) Sadly she deteriorated which resulted in emergency surgery.

We’re now 8 weeks post surgery and recovery is going amazingly 👏🏼 The surgeon has advised 6 months without riding.. We all know what equestrians are like when it comes to following medical advice BUT so far so good! 👀👨🏼‍⚕️

The horse in question has gone back to Ireland. He was the wildest 2YO we’d ever bought and we’re proud of what we did achieve with him! However we pride ourselves in selling horses that have unquestionable temperaments and are suitable for amateur riders - (something he was not! 🫠) - we couldn’t risk him ever making the same mistake again. We have lost hours and hours of our time and a huge amount of money… I think people forget that aspect of the job sometimes because we’re “just dealers.” They just assume we’d sneak him out to some unsuspecting novice rider because that’s what people think dealers do! Our clients safety is paramount to us and we have always produced our horses in such a way to build their confidence, educate them correctly and eliminate future risk to the best of our ability - sadly this horse didn’t make the cut in our yard and it was a bitter pill to swallow 😔 💔

Bill & Le’roy autumn trail hunting with The EDH this morning 🍂

Having hunted Bill for the most part of last season, we know how awesome he is - his first day out this season and he stepped back into the job like he was out only last weekend. He gave Brian a super ride... he really is our Mr Reliable!
15.2h approx, Bay, 5YO (2021)

Le’roy had his first day out with us, he’s got all the attributes he needs to make a super hunter 🐶
16.1 / 16.2h approx, Chestnut (2022)

Mickey out with The EDH this evening for the first mounted day of the season 🐶

He loaded and traveled on his own and was an absolute dream. He has done a little hunting in Ireland but it’s lovely to see for ourselves how much of a legend he truly is!! This horse is going to be a serious animal with a full season under his belt….

A lovely morning at Pontispool Equine Sports Centre with Nellie & Winnie…

🥇 We were blown away by both of these horses 👀 they’re seriously talented 4YO’s and they’re sure to have a bright future ahead!!

✨ An aspiring amateurs DREAM but they don’t have a brain that needs a competition home to stay sane - they’d suit a varied life - they’d be more than happy as a low level allrounder for those who like a bit of quality underneath them!

Nellie (Bay)
15.2h / 15.3h approx
Irish Sports Horse Mare by Chance Cassall

Winnie (Chestnut)
15.2h approx
Irish Sports Horse Mare by Tyson

A super morning at Southcott XC today…

🐎 Le’roy
Such a kind horse, he’s as simple as young horses get and is Mr Calm & Collected 🕶️ He isn’t fast, he isn’t sharp, he’s never been silly… So if speed isn’t a priority of yours but safety is, he’s your man!!
5YO (2021) Gelding
Irish Sports Horse, 16.1h / 16.2h approx

🐎 Mickey
We always knew he was special, but we knew not to over face him… Then one day, the penny truly drops and he takes you into a good sized fence with his ears pricked and has a jump like this!! What a legend!! 👏🏼
5YO (2021) Gelding
Irish Cob, 16.3h approx

🐎 Wilma
Such a super allrounder and she has plenty of jump for her type!! Her attitude is second to none, she’s just great in every sense! ⭐
4YO (2022) Mare
Irish Cob, 15.2h approx

🐎 Bill
Bill gave Brian a great spin around today, he’s such a fun horse to ride - he’s always up for the job! He’s a little hunting machine… 🐶
