A little recommendation for any fellow dog walkers out there (not an ad or anything, just a genuinely impressed customer!).

I’ve been debating buying the Equidry All-In-One since it first came out because it’s not exactly a cheap purchase, and I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the hype. I finally bit the bullet, and after giving it a proper test in today’s rain, I can honestly say it’s a game changer.

As someone who’s out in all weathers for hours at a time, staying dry is one thing, but staying properly dry is another. Today, even with the hood up over my hair clip, it stayed put, covered my face properly, and I came home completely bone dry.

The deep pockets are brilliant too. Usually I’m juggling bags that swing around while I’m poo-picking, but I could fit everything I needed in the pockets and leave the extra bag behind.

I also struggle to find outdoor gear that fits because I’m so short-legged, so the fact they offer short, standard and tall lengths was a huge plus. I went for the short version, and it actually fits perfectly!

I’m also an equestrian, so the sticky seat and the fact horse hair will just brush off is an added bonus for me.

Anyway, I just thought I’d share because I know a lot of us spend our days battling the British weather, and it’s nice when you find something that actually does what it says on the tin. Definitely one of those purchases I wish I’d made sooner! ☔🐾

🐾 DID YOU KNOW? 🐾
Your dog’s tongue position during panting can tell you a lot about how hot or tired they are! 👅🐶

✅ A relaxed tongue hanging slightly out the front or side after exercise is usually completely normal.

👅 When a dog gets warmer, their tongue often hangs further out to increase airflow and help cool them down faster.

🥄 Sometimes the end of the tongue curls into a “spoon” shape — this can happen when a dog is working extra hard to cool themselves, especially during hot weather or after exercise.

↩️ A tongue hanging far out to one side isn’t always dangerous on its own, but combined with heavy panting, thick drool, glazed eyes, or lethargy, it can be a sign your dog is overheating.

🚨 Warning signs to watch for:
• Very fast or frantic panting
• Deep red or purple tongue/gums
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness or wobbling
• Panting that doesn’t slow down after resting

💧If in doubt, move your dog somewhere cool, offer water, and contact your vet if symptoms continue.

Our dogs communicate with us constantly — we just have to know what to look for 🐾💛

An early start for the gang this morning 🐾☀️

We’ve had all walks completed nice and early today and shuffled everyone forward to avoid the hottest part of the day. That’s now a wrap for today due to the rising temperatures.

As we head into warmer weather, please be aware that Dorey & Co’s hot weather policy will be in place to keep all dogs safe and comfortable. This may mean:
• Earlier walk times
• Shorter walks
• Garden visits/toilet breaks instead of full walks
• Walk cancellations where necessary

While we know dogs love their walks, heatstroke in dogs can happen very quickly and can be extremely dangerous — even fatal. Hot pavements, high temperatures, and overexertion can all put our dogs at serious risk.

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always come first, and any changes made during hot weather are done with their best interests in mind ❤️🐶

I’m so excited to officially introduce Milan, who will be joining the Dorey & Co team as one of my trusted pet sitters! 🐾

Milan has personally looked after my own dogs, so I can honestly say she is incredibly trustworthy, reliable, caring, and dedicated to animal welfare. Anyone who knows me knows how high my standards are when it comes to my dogs, so bringing Milan on board was an easy decision.

She will be fully insured through Dorey & Co and will begin taking bookings from the 10th of September when she returns from America 🇺🇸

This means we’ll now be able to offer even more availability and flexibility to help accommodate your pet care needs and requirements.

Our pet sitting service is designed to keep your pets happy and comfortable in their own home environment, with walks included as part of the service 🏡🐶

One thing that makes Milan’s service extra special is that she will be solely dedicated to the dogs within your household during her stay — she will not be caring for multiple households’ dogs at the same time. This allows your pets to receive her full attention, care, love, and companionship throughout.

🐾 Tick Reminder 🐾

Just a little reminder that tick season is definitely in full swing at the moment! 🌿

I’m currently brushing off quite a few ticks that I can see crawling on dogs during walks, especially in grassy and wooded areas. Unfortunately, at this time of year they are absolutely relentless, and while I’ll always remove or brush off any I spot, there’s only so much I can do once we’re out and about.

Please make sure you’re checking your dogs regularly after walks and keeping them up to date with their flea & tick treatments to help protect them. ✔️

Ticks are tiny parasites that attach themselves to animals to feed, and they can sometimes carry diseases, so it’s always best to remove them as quickly as possible if you find one. Common places to check are around the ears, neck, under collars, between toes, and under the legs.

As always, your dogs’ wellbeing is my priority, and I’ll continue doing what I can while they’re in my care 🐶💚
