🐾 WELCOME TO THE DOREY & CO PACK, MARGOT! 🐾💛

Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the gorgeous Margot to the Dorey & Co pack! 🥰

Margot is a beautiful Golden Retriever who is just under 2 years old and has recently found herself a wonderful new home. 💛

Some of you may remember Daisy, the lovely Cocker Spaniel who used to join us on our adventures and who, very sadly, passed away at just 3 years old. 🌈💔 Daisy’s owners have now opened their home and hearts to Margot, giving this gorgeous girl a fresh start and a loving forever home. 🥹🐾

Unfortunately, Margot was attacked by another dog in her previous home, so her new owners are understandably keen to help rebuild her confidence around other dogs and get her happily socialising again.

And I’m very pleased to say that her first day with us today went amazingly well! 🥰 She settled in beautifully, enjoyed being out with the others and took everything in her stride. Such a positive start for this lovely girl! 💛

After today’s success, I’m really looking forward to watching Margot’s confidence continue to grow and seeing all the new friendships she makes along the way. 🐶🐾

🐾 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🐾

Did you know that sniffing can be just as important for your dog as physical exercise? 👃🐶

When dogs sniff, they’re not just smelling the grass — they’re gathering information about which dogs have been there, what’s changed in their environment and what’s been happening around them.

Using their nose is also mentally stimulating, which is why a good sniffy walk can leave a dog feeling surprisingly tired and content afterwards. 💤

So if your dog spends part of their walk with their nose glued to the floor, don’t worry that they’re “wasting” their walk — they’re actually giving their brain a workout too! 🧠🐾

That’s one of the reasons we make sure our walks aren’t just about charging around and getting the miles in. There’s always time for a good sniff and explore too! 💙

Everyone meet the gorgeous Narla, our newest member of the Dorey & Co pack! 🥰

Narla is an 11-month-old Boxer, so as you can imagine, she is a lovely bundle of bouncing Boxer energy! 😂🐶 She joined us for her very first adventure today and had an absolutely fab time getting stuck in, making new friends and enjoying plenty of fun with the pack. 🐾💨

She settled in beautifully and we’re so excited to have her joining us. We’re looking forward to making lots more memories, adventures and new friendships with this gorgeous girl! 💙

🌧️🐾 TODAY’S ADVENTURES — SOGGY DOGGY EDITION! 🐾🌧️

FINALLY… RAIN! 🙌😂 And I think it’s safe to say the dogs were just as happy about it as I was!

After all the dry, hard ground we’ve had lately, today’s rain was very much welcomed — and the dogs certainly made the most of it! 🐶💨

Our first two walks were full of soggy doggies, crazy zoomies, muddy paws and very happy faces. Apparently rain just adds an extra level of excitement because there was absolutely no stopping them! 😂🌧️🐾

By our final walk the sun decided to make an appearance ☀️, so we finished the day a little drier than we started!

Two soggy walks and one sunny one… but neither the dogs nor I were complaining! 💙🐶

What a fun-filled day we’ve had with the Dorey & Co gang! 🐶💙

Today has been all about happy dogs, waggy tails, lots of exploring and SO many zoomies! 💨😂 The packs have been having an absolute blast together — running, playing, sniffing and making the most of their adventures with their friends. 🐕🐕🐕

There’s nothing better than seeing a group of tired, happy doggies after they’ve spent their time doing exactly what dogs do best! 🥰🐾

📸 I managed to capture plenty of the fun today… although getting everyone to stay still long enough for a photo is another story! 😂

🐾 WE’VE BEEN A LITTLE QUIET ON HERE… BUT DEFINITELY NOT ON OUR WALKS! 🐾

I’ve been a little bit rubbish at posting lately 🙈 There’s been quite a lot going on behind the scenes, and unfortunately taking photos and keeping Facebook updated has been one of those things that’s slipped!

But rest assured, while the page has been quiet, the dogs certainly haven’t been! 😂🐶💨

Yesterday’s adventures were full of happy faces, plenty of sniffing, lots of exploring and, of course, some serious zoomies! 🐾🌿💨

I managed to actually get the camera out for a change, so here are a few snaps of some of the gang having the best time. 📸💙

All your lovely dogs are still out enjoying their adventures, making their friends and generally causing the usual chaos with me — there’s just been a serious lack of photographic evidence lately! 😂

I’m hoping to get back into posting more regularly again now, so expect to see lots more muddy paws, waggy tails, zoomies and happy dog spam appearing on your feed very soon! 🐕🐾

A little recommendation for any fellow dog walkers out there (not an ad or anything, just a genuinely impressed customer!).

I’ve been debating buying the Equidry All-In-One since it first came out because it’s not exactly a cheap purchase, and I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the hype. I finally bit the bullet, and after giving it a proper test in today’s rain, I can honestly say it’s a game changer.

As someone who’s out in all weathers for hours at a time, staying dry is one thing, but staying properly dry is another. Today, even with the hood up over my hair clip, it stayed put, covered my face properly, and I came home completely bone dry.

The deep pockets are brilliant too. Usually I’m juggling bags that swing around while I’m poo-picking, but I could fit everything I needed in the pockets and leave the extra bag behind.

I also struggle to find outdoor gear that fits because I’m so short-legged, so the fact they offer short, standard and tall lengths was a huge plus. I went for the short version, and it actually fits perfectly!

I’m also an equestrian, so the sticky seat and the fact horse hair will just brush off is an added bonus for me.

Anyway, I just thought I’d share because I know a lot of us spend our days battling the British weather, and it’s nice when you find something that actually does what it says on the tin. Definitely one of those purchases I wish I’d made sooner! ☔🐾

🐾 DID YOU KNOW? 🐾
Your dog’s tongue position during panting can tell you a lot about how hot or tired they are! 👅🐶

✅ A relaxed tongue hanging slightly out the front or side after exercise is usually completely normal.

👅 When a dog gets warmer, their tongue often hangs further out to increase airflow and help cool them down faster.

🥄 Sometimes the end of the tongue curls into a “spoon” shape — this can happen when a dog is working extra hard to cool themselves, especially during hot weather or after exercise.

↩️ A tongue hanging far out to one side isn’t always dangerous on its own, but combined with heavy panting, thick drool, glazed eyes, or lethargy, it can be a sign your dog is overheating.

🚨 Warning signs to watch for:
• Very fast or frantic panting
• Deep red or purple tongue/gums
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness or wobbling
• Panting that doesn’t slow down after resting

💧If in doubt, move your dog somewhere cool, offer water, and contact your vet if symptoms continue.

Our dogs communicate with us constantly — we just have to know what to look for 🐾💛
