Yes, we absolutely LOVE our girls… but let’s not forget about our boys! 💙🐐

Because behind every good herd, there’s a handsome bunch of boys doing their bit too. 😍

Although… at THIS time of year, “handsome” might be doing some heavy lifting! 🤣💨

Rut is well and truly upon us, and our boys are currently rocking the eau de goat fragrance. It’s strong. It’s… memorable. And unfortunately, it follows you home. 😂

But stink and all, we wouldn’t be without them. They’re a huge part of our herd, and we love our boys just as much as our girls. 💙

Now excuse us while we go and wash our hands and Medi… again. 🤣🐐

🩷 Meet Duchess 🩷

We realised we never properly introduced the newest girl to join the Horsehay herd!

This is Darwill Duchess 🐐💕

Duchess came to us a few weeks ago from Elizabeth Williams Darwil herd, and she has fitted in so well that it feels like she’s been here forever.

She’s a 4-year-old British Alpine milker, and she’s officially a proper Horsehay girl now! ❤️

We’re really pleased with her and excited to see what the future holds for this lovely girl.

And just when we thought we were done adding to the herd… 👀

There might be another new arrival joining us on Monday. 🤫🐐

🐐💙 THROWBACK TO USK SHOW 2023 💙🐐

With today being the day we should be back at Usk Show, we thought it was only right to have a little throwback…

And what better throwback than our very own Kiwi taking BEST IN SHOW at Usk in 2023! 🏆🥇❤️

Kiwi was such a special girl to us, and sadly we lost her. She certainly left her mark on Horsehay, and this is one of those photos that brings back so many happy memories.

There’s something pretty special about looking back at the goats who have helped shape Horsehay, and Kiwi was most definitely one of them. ❤️

So today, instead of being at Usk, we’ll be remembering Kiwi’s big day and all the wonderful memories she gave us.

And just look at her… BEST IN SHOW and she knew it! 😂🏆🐐

🐐 An early end to our 2026 show season 🐐

Today we should have been loading up and heading to Usk Show for what was meant to be our final show of the 2026 season.

Unfortunately, things haven’t quite gone to plan.

As one of the stewards involved with the show, we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel the goat section due to the current Bluetongue risk. It’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly, but ultimately the health and welfare of the goats has to come first.

So, rather sadly, Usk will mark the end of our 2026 show season earlier than we’d hoped. 💔

It’s disappointing not to get that final show of the year, especially after all the preparation, travelling, washing, clipping, training and general goat-related chaos that goes into getting everyone ready! 😂🐐

But we’d much rather finish the season safely than put our own goats, or anyone else’s, at unnecessary risk.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the 2026 show season, whether you’ve cheered us on from home, stopped to say hello at a show, admired the goats, or simply followed along with our adventures. ❤️

It’s been another brilliant year with some very special goats, some great results and plenty of memories made.

Now it’s time for the goats to put their feet up, enjoy the rest of the year and concentrate on the very important business of eating everything in sight. 😂

And who knows… there may even be a few new faces joining the Horsehay crew before the 2027 show season rolls around. 👀🐐

Whilst I was locked out of Facebook, I did a thing… 🤣

I bought a Cricut. ✂️

Much like the goats, Rhys thinks this is a ridiculous idea. 😂

But I’ve now discovered a slight problem…

I can’t stop putting goats on things. 🐐🤣

So far I’ve made myself an iPad case, some cups, cards and various other completely necessary goat-related items.

And now I’m looking at pretty much everything thinking “I could put a goat on that.” 😂

I’m not saying Horsehay Goats is about to have its own little merch department…

but this could potentially become a thing. 👀🐐✂️

So, if it did become a thing…

🐐 WE HAVEN’T VANISHED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH! 😂

We promise we’re still here! Facebook decided to throw a spanner in the works and somehow we managed to get locked out of our own page. 🤦‍♀️

The bizarre part? We could still see and respond to messages, but apparently actually making a post was asking far too much. 😂

So, after a rather unexpected Facebook holiday, we’re finally back! 🎉

And what better way to return than with a photo of Bramley at Minsterley Show…

…which was on 16th August. 🤣

In our defence, the photo only arrived today, so technically we’re only slightly late. 😂

And yes, before anyone asks, that is Tawny lurking in the background. Because apparently Bramley wasn’t allowed to have a photo all to herself. 🐐🤣

But whilst we’ve been unable to post, there’s actually been quite a lot happening at Horsehay!

We’ve sent some very special girls (and one little boy!) off to their new homes. It’s always a little bittersweet saying goodbye, but we’re pleased to say we made the right choices. They’re happily settled and being thoroughly spoilt, which is exactly what we like to hear. ❤️

And then we welcomed a very special new girl into the herd…

👑 Darwill Duchess 👑

She’s already settling in beautifully, and Medi has given her the ultimate Horsehay welcome.

“HIYA!” 😂

Medi likes to shout this at Duchess whenever she sees her. Duchess is yet to return the greeting, but we’re sure she’ll get there eventually! 😂

So there we are… we’re back! And we’ve got plenty to catch you all up on.

When your nephew comes to see you and the goats at the show… and somehow the goats end up trying on his Minecraft hat! 😂🐐🎮

We’re not entirely sure who wore it best, but the goats are definitely giving serious gamer energy. 🤣

Apparently, Minecraft is now an essential part of show day at Horsehay Goats! ⛏️🐐💚

Medi and the goats have had a great day at Minsterley Show no show for us just a display but lots of goats for people to see and lots of people coming to see them 😊
