We believe that for dogs to be truly healthy, inside and out, they should be provided appropriate mental and physical stimulation, and get to spend time in nature with their own kind. We seek to provide a service where dogs are allowed to express their primal selves. Our goal is to educate dog owners to better understand the true nature of their dog, and to embrace both its strengths and weaknesse

s in order to achieve training success. We believe that when dogs and human connect on a deep and meaningful level, and learn how to communicate clearly and without hinder, there are few limits to what can be achieved. Our Doggie Day Trips are a combined Dog Walking and Day Care service where your four-legged friend gets to spend the day in nature. We offer private in-home consultations around Scotland to help you with your dog's behaviour problems.

🌞 WARM WEATHER ESSENTIALS 🌞

It is rarely so warm that we need to cancel walks in Scotland, but I thought I’d share some of the precautions we take as well as our favourite products with you!

We usually have our walker start pick ups earlier and cut the time spent outside shorter on very hot days to avoid the warmest hours. During heat waves, there are no hikes. We do slow strolls in by water and hang out in the shade. We always do a debrief at the start of the day to make sure everyone knows where they are heading and have a plan. 🌳🌊

In the van, we love to use crate fans from and non-spill water bowls so that the dogs always have access to fresh water.

For big training days with our own dogs or warm walking days, I always add electrolytes from to the dogs’ water.

In the winter we use our to clean the dogs after the walks. This summer on the hottest days, we have been filling it up with cold water in the morning and then rinsing the dogs straight out of the van so that they are cool from the start before they get to their swim spot.

A reflective shade cloth is a must! We use these when we run training days and workshops, but have also been putting it over the van while out on a walk so that it stays cooler for us getting back (aircon always takes a bit to kick in).

Finally, a good cooling mat for both the car and for the crate inside the house helps the dogs sleep well and get better recovery.

This week we said goodbye to our team dog Zuko 💔

Loosing any dog is heartbreaking, but to have such a young dog be diagnosed with a terminal illness and decline so rapidly is just devastating.

Zuko, you were hell of a dog and reminded me of Fausto in so many ways. My favourite memory of you will always be your anger at prickly leaves as a puppy. I hope you are up there hunting graves, biting biceps and causing carnage with Ida. I love you Zucchini, I’ll see you on the other side buddy.
