This week we want to tell you about Stethoscopes 🩺!!

Our vets and nurses use their stethoscopes every single day in clinic, from monitoring your pets Anaesthetics to checking out their heart health in consultations.

Most of our stethoscopes have two "bells" at the bottom of them. 👇 One which known as a paediatric bell which lets us listen to kittens, puppies and small furries/bird hearts (like Sissy from last weeks post). 💕
The second bell is larger and used more commonly for our regular sized (and extra large 😉) patients.

In vet med they're the first thing we reach for in the morning and the last thing we hang up in the evening so we often choose our favourite colours and customise them to match our personalities. Can you guess our nurses favourite colours? 😉💙

We told you a few weeks ago that we love to see little and large friends but we bet you didn't think we meant this little!! 🫣

This cutie pie is Sissy, a guinea pig who visited us for an abdominal ultrasound of all things! 💪
We use ultrasound in clinic as a diagnostic aid for us to view the internal parts of your pets organs and also the chambers and valves of their heart ❤️

Sissy's ultrasound helped us get to the bottom of her urinary issues and create a plan for her treatment. 😊

What's going on with those TOES?! 🐾

We had beautiful Ellwood visit us a few weeks ago at our Dundas St branch for an abdominal scan.
She has a genetic mutation called polydactyly which means she has (more than) a few extra toes.

Ellwood is a special case not only because this condition is rarely seen in our Domestic Short Hair breeds and much more common in Maine C***s but it is also usually reserved for one foot rather than all four! ❤️

The condition does not affect Ellwood medically and is just a beautiful quirk that our nurses and vets love to see. 😊

If you have a moggy with extra toes, please share their picture in the comments so we can count their beans 🫘 when they next visit us 😍

We had a Male (not neutered) Tabby cat handed into our Lochend Branch yesterday following a road traffic accident who sadly did not make it.

The cat is not microchipped so we cannot reunite him with his owner. 😢

Please get in contact if you are missing a cat with this description.

Happy Monday!! 💕

Everyone needs a puppy puddle on a Monday and our lucky team at Lochend Road got to cuddle with these little darlings when they came in for their first health checks last week. 🩺 💉

We hear that they were super brave. 🐾
