Bruff’s Bark and Bath @ Tufty’s
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Tufty’s Dog Grooming, Balerno
There are two types of people in this world…
Those who think dog grooming is a quick trim…
…and those of us living in the high-stakes, emotionally volatile world of Cairn Terriers, where a haircut can make or break reputations, friendships, and possibly small nations.
Enter Hilary at Tufty’s.
Our system is military-grade.
Betsy goes in first — pure chaos in dog form, running on static electricity and bad decisions.
Barney follows — calm, calculated, a man in a dog suit, quietly assessing whether any of us deserve to be here.
One in. One out. Swap. Repeat.
A perfectly timed operation involving fur, pride, and a level of scrutiny normally reserved for Olympic judging panels.
Now — and let’s be absolutely clear here —
these are hand-stripped Cairn Terriers.
Not clipped. Not fluffed. Not turned into a soft toy you’d win at a dodgy fairground.
We’re talking proper, traditional, done-right hand stripping… the kind that separates the professionals from the “aye that’ll do” brigade.
And Hilary…
does not “aye that’ll do.”
She operates at a level that can only be described as…
dangerously accurate.
The faces?
Ridiculous.
Precision-engineered.
Balanced.
Alive with character.
🎨 Leonardo da Vinci didn’t paint dogs… but if he had, he’d have been phoning Hilary for tips.
Now here’s where it gets serious.
Barney — one show.
One single appearance in the ring.
Best in Show.
Walked in. Won it. Left.
Like a heavyweight champion who didn’t fancy sticking around for interviews.
And now… with Hilary behind the grooming?
We’re not saying anything reckless…
…but we are quietly observing that Barney and Betsy are beginning to look suspiciously like the future “dog and bitch to beat” in the Cairn world.
Coincidence?
We think not.
Barney comes out looking like he owns land somewhere.
Betsy comes out looking like she’s about to cause a small but organised incident… impeccably groomed while doing it.
No nonsense.
No over-soft fluff.
No losing the breed.
Just textbook Cairn Terrier perfection, delivered with frightening consistency.
And for those of us who are… let’s be honest… deeply pernickety bordering on obsessive —
this isn’t just good.
This is career-defining grooming.
In summary:
If you’ve got a Cairn Terrier and you actually care about getting it right —
Hilary isn’t just grooming dogs…
she’s producing champions.
We’ll be back.
Regularly.
Possibly with trophies. 🏆
