Spring is finally here, and while we’re loving the extra sunshine, the season change brings some hidden "no-nos" for our pups! 🐾🌷

From garden fertilisers to those sneaky spring blooms, it’s important to know what to watch for before you head out on your walk.

Quick Checklist:
✅ Stick to the paths to avoid pesticides.
✅ Check for ticks & fleas after every stroll.
✅ Keep an eye out for toxic plants like Lilies and Daffodils.

Save this post to keep these tips handy, and tag a fellow dog parent who needs a spring safety reminder!

“He’s just excited.”

That’s what most people say about lead pulling.

But constant pulling usually isn’t just excitement.
It can be frustration, habit, or overstimulation.

And the more it’s practised, the stronger it becomes.

Loose lead walking isn’t about control.
It’s about communication.

I’ve written a new blog post explaining:

• Why dogs pull
• What pulling is often telling you
• Why quick fixes don’t last

If you’re walking around Edinburgh wishing your arm hurt less, this one’s for you.

How do you know if your dog is stressed?
It’s not always barking or growling.

Sometimes it’s:
Avoiding eye contact
Slowing down on walks
Struggling to settle at home

Small signs often appear long before bigger behaviours develop.

I’ve written a blog post to help owners recognise early stress signals and understand what their dog might be communicating.

If you’re based in Edinburgh and want to better understand your dog’s behaviour, you might find this helpful.

The Canine Teenage Years: It's Just a Phase, We Promise! 😅

If your sweet puppy suddenly has selective hearing, bursts of energy, and has forgotten the meaning of "come," you've entered the adolescent stage (approx. 5-24 months). It's a challenging time—their brain is literally being rewired!

The key to survival? Consistency, patience, and connection.

➡️ Focus on: Reward-based training, fulfilling their drive to explore with calm "sniffy walks," and always providing safe chew outlets.

This temporary developmental phase will pass, but your relationship will be stronger for getting through it! Stay positive! ❤️
