Edinburgh Cat Protection League is a small independent registered charity (SC054757) formed to help cats & kittens whose owners are no longer able to care for them. We are a stand alone, self-funding Scottish Charity dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of cats. Edinburgh Cat Protection League is registered as a Charity in Scotland No SC054757 and is regulated by OSCR the Scottish Charity Regulator. The charity is a company limited by guarantee registered with Companies House No SC869974.

💕ADOPT DIESEL AND KYLO💕

Kylo (black) and Diesel (black and white) are looking for a home together!

They both came in separately but have struck up a lovely friendship while at the rescue so we want to see if there is anyone who would give them a home together.

Diesel is a lovely 2 year old neutered boy looking for a new home!

Diesel was a little shy and unsure when he first came into the rescue but has become a lot more confident. He’s very affectionate and loves to stand up on his back legs and “dolphin” to get pets from you.

His friend Kylo is a really sweet 3 year old neutered boy!

Kylo came into us as a stray so we don’t have much background information about him. He was very matted when he came in so has had most of his back fur shaved which will grow back in time! He’s been incredibly affectionate while here and loves to sit on your lap for cuddles.

He’s looking to be rehomed with his newfound friend Diesel, they need outdoor access due to Kylo being a stray before and having experienced having that access. They could potentially live with older children but not any other pets.

Pepe is a really sweet 11 year old neutered girl looking for a new home!

Before being with her most recent owner who sadly passed away, Pepe was in a home where she had been abused by a man so she can be a little wary at first. When she gets to know you and know you’re safe, she loves getting pats! She’s previously had outdoor access so would be needing this again. She is looking for a quiet home as the only pet and no children.

Pepe has some medical issues that will be discussed with any potential adopter.

We've got some lovely older ladies available for adoption today and first up is Maizie!

Maizie is a beautiful 9 year old neutered girl looking for a new home!

Maizie is a bit shy but loves getting fish treats from you and giving you slow blinks! She may take a while to settle so is looking for a patient and understanding owner. She's previously had outdoor access so would be needing this again. She could potentially live with another cat friendly cat but no dogs. She's also looking for a quiet home with no children.

We understand that visiting the vet can be a stressful experience for both cats and caregivers. Our top tips will help reduce some of that stress and anxiety 👇

🐱 Choose a sturdy and secure carrier, place a blanket from home inside for a familiar scent.

🐱 Leave the carrier out at home as an extra bed or safe space, so your cat doesn’t always associate it with leaving.

🐱 Spray the carrier with synthetic feline pheromones at least 15 minutes before putting your cat in it.

🐱 Cover the carrier with a cloth or towel while you are travelling to help keep your cat calm. Rather than holding the carrier by the handle, which can cause it to swing, carry it with both hands from underneath.
