Many congratulations to Dr Alberto Luque Castro from our Farm Animal Practice, who has become a Diplomate of the European College of Small Ruminant Health Management (DipECSRHM).

Diplomate status is the highest qualification a veterinary surgeon can achieve, and takes several years of focused clinical training, research projects and exams.

Alberto, who has interests in mastitis, parasitology and preventive flock medicine, joined the Dick Vet Farm Animal Practice in 2019, and has been providing veterinary care for all farm species whilst working towards his Diplomate exams.

Following his residency with us, Alberto will be taking up a role at Ross University in St Kitts in January.

We wish you the very best in your future career, Alberto!

If you are visiting AgriScot today, come and say hello!

We have vets from our practice and our Dairy Herd Health and Productivity Service at our stand.

As well as providinf first opinion veterinary advice and consultancy on all aspects of herd and flock health, our Dairy Herd Health and Productivity Service (DHHPS) also performs metabolic blood profiles on over 8,000 dairy cows a year.

Why not “ask the cows” what they think of the ration with a metabolic profile?

Come and see us at stand 105, right by the entrance of the Highland Hall or visit https://www.ed.ac.uk/vet/dhhps
