Well, I've had an awful few days here at Hairy Styles HQ 😔 Some of you know that my own dog, Maddie, has been poorly for a number of weeks. We've had her back and forth to the vets and been given antibiotics for apparent infections.
Things took a turn for the worst on Monday morning when Maddie had a severe nose bleed. We rushed her to the vets where she continued to bleed until the early hours of Tuesday morning. To cut a very long story short, multiple issues were found but it wasnt until Maddie was stable enough to have a CT scan that they found something far more sinister. A wooden kebab skewer that had punctured a hole through her stomach and into her liver. And it was mm away from a main vein!!
We were not expecting her to pull through but miraculously, she survived the op to remove it and the holes are small enough to repair themselves.
Shes still in a critical condition but should recover in time.
As you can imagine, I've been a bit stressed out these last few days! And had to cancel several dogs.
I will be contacting everyone to arrange new dates as soon as I can but struggling for space as im flying solo with the kids due to my husband now being away on Tartan Army duty!
I'll likely have to move some appointments next week too when Maddie gets out so I'll be in touch with whomever that will affect as soon as I know.
I've had lots of messages for appointments but just so that everyone is aware, I am fully booked into the end of August and not taking on new customers. Ill try reply to enquires as soon as I can but as you can imagine, my brain is fried now 🥺

Well, it’s been a fun few weeks back at Hairy Styles 🐕✂️🐩🐾

I have been inundated with enquiries since announcing I was fully back open so thank you to everyone who helped spread the word 🙌

I’ve also been getting lots of enquiries for appointments from August/September time as a groomer local to me is closing down and referring all her clients to Hairy Styles. So if anyone has not booked their next appointment, please message me asap as it’s filling up fast ‼️

‼️ T E M P O R A R Y C L O S U R E ‼️

Well, that’s Hairy Styles now officially closed for the next six weeks. I’m so unbelievably grateful for the support I’ve received from all of my lovely customers. From agreeing to take your dogs that little bit shorter and stretching out grooms to those of you who are going elsewhere for a groom to maintain their regular schedule. And to the amazing groomers who have taken on these dogs ☺️thank you, thank you, thank you all!!

I will be back in the salon as soon as I get clearance from my doctor and I feel physically well enough to be back grooming. I am going to miss all these dogs so much but it’s definitely the right time to get this op over and done with.

I’ll not be replying to any enquiries over the next couple of weeks but I’m sure I’ll be present on social media sharing some of the 1000’s of photos I have stored on my phone.

I’ll be in touch directly with anyone who has an appointment pencilled in for my return, and I’ll announce on here when my diary is open again for everyone else.

🐶✂️IMPORTANT NEWS ✂️🐶

Just to make sure everyone is aware, I am having an operation at the end of March and unfortunately have to close the salon for 6 weeks.

I’m not taking on any new customers for now but if any of my regular customers haven’t booked in, then please get in touch asap.

I still have scattered availability between 14th Feb and 9th March. But no availability from the until the end of May.

I’ll also not be able to groom some large and, shall we say, the more physically challenging dogs for a period after my operation too.

It’s a scary position to be in and very grateful for all the support I’ve had from my lovely customers I’ve spoke with so far. If I can’t fit you in or I think I’ll be physically unable groom your dog, I’ve got list of groomers with availability to refer you to. But I will speak to everyone individually about this.

Introducing him gently to the groom process, taking it step by step. Today he had a bath and dry and absolutely smashed it.
