Nichola thought she was seeing triple today!

It was so cute having small (Sunny), medium (Rosie) and large (Nyla) golden/fox red labs all at the same time today ❤️🐶🥰.

We’d just like to say thank you to all our thoughtful clients who take the time to drop in cards, flowers and gifts. It really isn’t necessary but they definitely don’t go unnoticed 🥰❤️.

Many vets and nurses keep their thank you cards for years.

When we have the odd sad day saying goodbye to a patient or a complicated case which requires extra skill and thinking it can make a huge difference to the team.

These gorgeous flowers were a welcome surprise today 😊. Thank you Sophie and Karla! 🐶 😊.

Congratulations to our lovely friend and client Ewelina PurrBurm Burmese Cattery and her absolutely gorgeous kitten Ollie who won best kitten in show at the Musselburgh GCCF cat show today. Ollie was a star and very relaxed and confident while the judging was happening.

It’s always a great day out to see some beautiful cats and meet up with fellow cat lovers 😻.

This week we’ve had final year vet student Finlay seeing practice with us 😊.

Finlay is an Edinburgh local who had been studying at Glasgow University for the past 6 years.

We love having EMS and work experience students at Leith Vets and try to make sure they learn as much as they can while they’re with us.

This week Finlay has been assisting the vets placing IV catheters, in consultations and surgery. This little cutie is Posy being prepped for her spay surgery ❤️.

Over the past year we’ve had students from Edinburgh Uni, Glasgow Uni, Bristol Uni, Nottingham Uni and Harper Keele Uni.

We’re pleased to have Finlay with us for another 2 weeks 😊.

There is currently a recall on all Years dog food due to increasing numbers of cases of ‘dry eye’.

Unfortunately one of our patients has developed dry eye after being fed Years dog food. Thankfully her eyes are improved and comfortable with medications.

If you currently feed Years dog food please stop feeding it immediately. More information can be found on the Years website. The company is advising owners with dogs experiencing eye discomfort to contact them.

The investigation is ongoing but so far it seems that the condition may be linked to buckwheat which has only recently been added to their dog food.

If you have been feeding Years dog food and your dog has any of the following symptoms please get in touch with us:

✅ red eyes
✅ squinted eyes
✅ painful eyes
✅ a discharge from both eyes

Feel free to also get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

We had double trouble today with siblings Mamba and Hunter Spanish Water dogs and cheeky Kevin and Jellybean cats all begging for treats today 😸🐶

We love it when our patients keep us entertained (yummy treats also help 🤣)
