Our furry friends deserve a holiday too this autumn! 🍂🐶

While you’re off enjoying your own break, your pup can be making memories of their own with a loving Barking Mad host. Think crisp autumn walks, plenty of fuss and a cosy home from home to curl up in afterwards. 💛🐾

Dogs really do make life better 🐶💛

They make us laugh, get us outside, keep us company and somehow always know when we need a little extra love.

We might look after them, but they give us so much in return. 🐾

Nothing makes us happier than hearing from our lovely customers! 🐶💛

A huge thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review. Knowing your pup was happy and you could enjoy your time away with peace of mind means so much to the whole Barking Mad team. 🐾

Yoshi is the first Japanese Spitz we’ve had the pleasure of looking after at Barking Mad Edinburgh.

The Japanese Spitz is often described as having the appearance of a miniature Samoyed—bright white, fluffy, friendly, and very expressive—which is one reason the breed has a devoted following despite being relatively rare. Hosts Carol and James absolutely fell in love with him we can understand why!

If we can help with boarding for your fur baby please get in touch.

It was terrific seeing Mabel again for a holiday it’s been a while since her last holiday. Mabel is a rescue from Bosnia and she has adapted to her life in Scotland so well. She is a chilled confident dog and always a huge hit with any of our hosts that take care of her which is always amazing to see 😃

Thanks to host Mark for taking great care of Skye on her two night trial stay. They enjoyed great walks and Skye settled very well and is ready to go for her longer holiday fairly soon. Mark said she poses for pics like a supermodel…..we can see that!

After his recent two night trial stay Reggie has been back with us for a longer holiday. Host Anne was delighted to care for him again and just loved his company. Needing to get your dog sorted for a holiday? Just get in touch 😀

We’re completely in love with Shetland Sheepdogs — we have three of our own! So when Skye and Isla’s mum and dad asked last year if we’d look after them in our home alongside our shelties, it was an easy yes. We’ve cared for the girls many times now, and as you can see in the video, Jerry was very surprised (and excited!) to see them back at our house again ❤️

27/02/2026

Meet Tali, the curious Beagle who’s stolen our hearts at Barking Mad Edinburgh. This sniff happy girl leaves no stone unturned, investigating every inch inside and out. We can’t wait to welcome this gorgeous girl back for a longer holiday after her successful trial stay.

Adorable Reggie has just completed his two night trial stay with host Anne. They got on fabulously well and were looking forward to seeing Reggie back for a proper holiday very soon.

03/02/2026

Regular boarder Morty the Cockapoo had a visit back in time recently on his holiday. Host Anne was delighted to see him again after last hosting him in 2019! He knew where he was as soon as he arrived at Anne’s door and needless to say they got on great! Morty loves the beach and Anne made sure he was suitably indulged!

This is handsome Angus a really laid back Black Labrador and he has just been on his first proper Barking Mad Holiday 😀 He was so well behaved and such a charming boy we can’t wait to see him very soon for another holiday.
