We’re delighted to introduce Finn, who joined us in August as one of our veterinary surgeons! 🩺🐶🐱

Finn graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2024 and began his career working in a busy veterinary hospital, gaining valuable experience before making the move to Riverside.

He particularly enjoys small animal practice and has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery, an area he’s looking forward to developing further as part of our team.

When he’s not looking after your pets, Finn loves exploring the Hampshire countryside and is usually planning his next hiking adventure – whether that’s somewhere in the UK or a little further afield! 🥾⛰️

We’re really pleased to have Finn on board, so if you spot him around the practice, be sure to say hello! 💚

Welcome to Riverside, Finn!

Sadly a member of public has brought us a deceased silver/brown tabby found on Allington Lane. No microchip found. If this is your cat or you know who she may have belonged too, please ask them to get in touch😥
Thank you 🙏

🐾 Welcome back, Hayley! 💚

We’re very excited to welcome our lovely receptionist Hayley back to Riverside Vets following her maternity leave! 👶🏼🐾

After spending some very special time with her new arrival, Hayley is back behind reception and ready to welcome all our wonderful clients and their pets again.

We’ve certainly missed having her around, and we know many of you will be pleased to see a familiar face when you next visit the practice!

Please join us in giving Hayley a big welcome back! 💚🐶🐱

🍂🐾 October Pet Care – Autumn Has Arrived! 🐾🍂

The leaves are falling, the evenings are getting darker and there’s definitely a chill in the air! As we settle into October, there are a few seasonal changes to keep in mind for our pets.

🌙 Be seen on darker walks
With daylight disappearing earlier, consider reflective collars, leads or LED lights to help keep you and your dog visible.

🍄 Watch what they sniff & eat
Autumn brings mushrooms, fungi, acorns and conkers. Some can cause illness if eaten, so keep an extra eye on curious pets while out exploring.

🪳Don’t forget about parasites
Fleas and ticks don’t simply disappear when summer ends. Warm homes can provide the perfect environment for fleas, so keeping preventative treatment up to date remains important.

🦴 Look after older joints
Colder, damper weather can make stiffness more noticeable in senior pets. If your pet is slowing down, struggling to get comfortable or becoming reluctant to walk, it may be worth getting them checked.

🎃 Keep Halloween treats out of paws’ reach
Chocolate and some sweets can be dangerous for pets. Keep trick-or-treat goodies safely stored away.

🎆 Start preparing for fireworks NOW
November might feel a little way off, but October is the perfect time to start preparing pets who struggle with fireworks. Creating a safe space and beginning preparations early can make a big difference.

🍁 Autumn is a brilliant time to get outdoors with our pets — just a few simple precautions can help keep those adventures happy and safe.

If you have any concerns about your pet this autumn, get in touch with the team on 02380620607 💚🐾

🐾 Meet Hazel! 🐾

We couldn’t resist sharing this adorable little face! Hazel is a gorgeous Tibetan Terrier who came in to visit us at Riverside Vets, and she certainly brought plenty of puppy cuteness with her. 🐶✨

Just look at those eyes! 😍

Did you know Tibetan Terriers have large, flat, round feet that act a bit like snowshoes? 🐾❄️
Their unique feet helped them navigate the snowy, mountainous terrain of Tibet.

Hazel’s fluffy paws have some serious history!

🐱 Happy Caturday from all of us at Riverside Vets! 🐾

The weekend has officially arrived, and our feline friends are already hard at work doing what they do best… napping, demanding snacks and finding the most inconvenient place possible to sit. 😹

We’d love to see what your cats are up to this Caturday! 📸

🐾 Share a photo of your cat in the comments below — whether they’re looking majestic, causing chaos or fast asleep in their favourite spot!
