Yep I’m gonna clear it …

With some simple deep hand movements (effleurage and petrissage) as demonstrated. You can release so much tension for your horse.

Back to it every Wednesday since February. Slowly but surely building this back up — and honestly, it feels good to have my hands busy again.

If it’s been a while since your animal’s had a massage, now’s the time. DM to book.ā€

Looking beyond the surface… šŸ‘€

When assessing a horse, I look at the whole picture:
• Posture
• Muscle development
• Symmetry
• Movement
• Areas of tension

Massage isn’t just about treating sore muscles—it’s about understanding how the body works together and helping your horse feel and move at their best.

Every horse has a story to tell—you just have to know how to listen. šŸ’™

Tension isn’t always obvious. Sometimes it’s a subtle change in behaviour, stiffness on one rein, or reluctance to stretch.

Equine massage helps identify areas of muscular discomfort and encourages relaxation, improved flexibility, and better movement.

A relaxed horse is often a happier horse.

Behind every treatment is a little preparation… 🐓✨

Before the hands-on work begins, I take a few minutes to review history, discuss any concerns with the owner, and assess how your horse is moving. Every massage is tailored to the individual horse—because no two horses are the same.

A thorough assessment helps me provide the best treatment possible and support your horse’s comfort and performance.

After a massage session, the body needs time to process. Here’s what I tell every owner: šŸ“Œ

DO:
āœ“ Give them access to fresh water — massage increases circulation and can cause mild thirst
āœ“ Allow rest for the remainder of the day
āœ“ Let them choose how they move — don’t force exercise
āœ“ Notice any changes in movement or behaviour over the next 48 hours (these are useful to feed back)

AVOID:
āœ— Strenuous exercise or long walks the same day āœ— Bath or hydrotherapy within 24 hours
āœ— Heavy grooming over worked areas immediately after

What to expect: Some dogs are sleepy and very relaxed. Some are temporarily a little stiff as the muscles begin to release — this is normal and usually clears within 24–48 hours.
Occasionally dogs drink more than usual. All normal.

If anything concerns you after a session, always message me directly.

ā€œIs massage just for horses that are injured or struggling?ā€

No — and this is one I get asked a lot.

Massage is just as valuable for a healthy, working animal. Think of it like maintenance. You service your car before it breaks down, not after.

Regular sessions mean I catch tension and restriction early — before it becomes a behaviour issue, a soundness issue, or a vet bill.

Align works with horses and dogs at every stage — in work, in recovery, and everything in between.
