Wilson the Tortoise came to class yesterday!

Oh my, I am in love!

I always wanted a tortoise, but I know enough to know that I don't know enough to look after one properly (does that sentence even make sense??)

Jack was curious at first, especially when Wilson was allowed on the floor. I was super careful that he didn't go into whippet mode and deliver a bite. That thought never entered his mind.

Poor Fletch couldn't cope, and Harley, despite being a little excited, was fine with it all

Ralph, who lives with Wilson, was very determined no one should get too close.

Did you know a tortoise can feel you stroking them through their shell? And that their shells grow with them, they don't shed like crabs do?

Baby puppies has one space, starting Monday 7th September at 6pm

Older puppies also has one space, starting Tuesday 8th September at 6pm

Juvenile/adult dogs who have done a course with me or another trainer, I have one off peak space, starting Tuesday 8th September at 5pm. Not sure you're quite ready for this level? Drop me a message and let's chat.

Are your dogs off their food in this heat?

I know mine are. It's a combination of heat and sitting around all day with no walks and no work.

They didn't really want lunch or dinner yesterday.

So, this morning I loaded them up with a bigger than normal brekkie ( think full English with double everything lol), and I made it wet. Very VERY wet.

Kibble should be fed soaked anyway, but whatever you feed, but in these temperatures ADD MORE WATER.

Feed raw? ADD WATER

I'm a fresh food feeder ( Butternut Box Different Dog Pure Pet Food ) and I always add a little water to make a gravy

Mrs Chutney (she's my cat!), eats Marro, which is fresh, and I'm adding water to her food too!!

Always make sure you have fresh water available for your dog and cat.

Another Class Takeover used the theme of "Acting Dogs" and tasks a dog may be asked to use on a film set!

So much fun was had, posing with hats and bandanas, food and products (think advertising).

One of our challenges is a Class Takeover, where class members organise and run their own class!

Some of them do obstacle courses, others work on something a little more serious, stays for example.

One year ago today I sent my little Daisie to the Rainbow Bridge.

Daisie was my first toy breed. I had always wanted a toy breed to learn more about them, and what was possible to teach them.

Seems they are the same as big breeds, the main difference being smaller food bowls and less p**p! 😂😂

Coming Home Veterinary Services still regularly pop up in my newsfeed, and recently Jeremy attended a friends elderly collie cross.

Ahhh my little Daisie dog. Your legacy (along with Trevor and Pip) will live on. The lessons you taught still help dogs coming into class. You will be happy to know that Yogi is learning the art of sitting on the arms of chairs, as you used to, so the residents in "his" care home can stroke him.
