Unfortunately Amy’s turn for a vet visit and the poor little one isn’t doing so well. She already has a lot of problems going on, a huge spleen tumour, her heart problems … and recently she’s been having nose bleeds …
Sadly it’s highly likely it’s all related to the tumour and possibly it’s now caused metastatic lesions in her sinus and problems with her bone marrow. Bloods done last night showed the bone marrow is very depressed - her red cells, platlets, white cells .. almost everything is very low - this means any chance of any surgery or biopsies is impossible due to the inability of her blood to clot and the high risk of any infection that she couldn’t fight. A scan was done and yes the tumour is large but there is currently no bleeding from that. We could go to see an oncologist but they would need to make a biopsy to even look at any treatment that could be given …
It’s a very difficult situation and now I have to make all these decisions alone it feels very heavy. Discussing with vet Pablo I decided that we need to watch, wait and make every day count for Amy. Pablo has given her some meds to help reduce the bleeding and we will chat again in a week to see if this has helped - if so then she can remain on this mediation for as long as needs be. Amy is always happy but she has slowed down a little of late which looking at her mood results is understandable but she is still enjoying her life - she is simply the best girl and my heart breaks for her, she has never put a paw wrong in life at all. My aim is to give her the best days possible and soak up all the love there is.
On a positive note Amy loved her little trip out and was of course as good as gold ❤️
