After the amazing results we had from our last photoshoot, I couldn’t resist booking another one with JD Media Photography & Videography

Belle isn’t exactly known for sitting still 😂 Being a Working Cocker, she’s much happier running around, doing something and keeping me on my toes — so she definitely isn’t the easiest model!

But once again, Jake worked his magic and managed to capture Belle exactly as she is — her personality, cheekiness and that gorgeous Cocker character I love so much. 🐾🩷

Zora & Ziggy — trust is everything 🐾

Two very different personalities, but both breeds have one thing in common — they were genetically bred to be protective, watchful and naturally cautious of unfamiliar people.
Zora, the Cane Corso, was historically bred as a guardian and working dog, while Ziggy, a Cane Corso × Presa Canario, combines two powerful guardian breeds with strong protective instincts.

That’s why working with breeds like these requires more than just grooming skills. A strong understanding of canine behaviour, body language and breed awareness is vital. Being qualified in these areas allows me to recognise subtle signs of stress, understand what each dog is communicating and adapt my approach accordingly.

These breeds are often misunderstood, but when you understand the dog in front of you rather than judging the breed, you can build something really special. ❤️

✨ Nellie’s First Handstrip ✨

Beautiful Nellie the Cocker Spaniel came in for her very first handstripping appointment, and what a transformation! 🐶✂️

Handstripping is a specialist grooming technique where the dead outer coat is carefully removed by hand, allowing the new coat to grow through whilst helping to maintain the correct texture, colour and structure of the coat. Unlike clipping, which cuts the coat, handstripping removes the dead hairs from the root.

It’s a specialist skill that requires knowledge of coat types, growth cycles and the correct technique to achieve a natural finish while protecting the quality of the coat.

Nellie will be back with me in November for her second handstripping appointment to continue maintaining her beautiful coat. 💕🐾

🎄✨ Christmas Update ✨🎄

I’ve had one grooming appointment become available on Tuesday 15th December at 9:30am — and this is now my LAST available appointment for a full groom in December 2026! 🐾❄️

My last working day of 2026 will be Wednesday 23rd December. I’m not yet sure what date I’ll be returning to work in January, but I’ll aim to update everyone with my January dates during October. ❤️

I now have just 3 grooming appointments remaining for November. Once these November appointments have been filled, I will have no grooming appointments left until January 2027.

A polite notice regarding appointments: due to how busy this time of year is, I’m unfortunately unable to reschedule appointments once booked. My waiting list is open, however, so if you’re unable to make your appointment, please let me know and I can add you to the list for any cancellations.

If you’re hoping to get your dog groomed before Christmas, please don’t leave it too late! 🎄🐾

Gorgeous Reggie the Show Cocker Spaniel came in for his very first puppy introduction groom today! 🥰

I use lots of enrichment activities during puppy grooms to help create a positive association with grooming. Licky mats, treats, sniffing and foraging give puppies something enjoyable to focus on while they experience new sights, sounds and sensations.

Sniffing and foraging are also naturally rewarding behaviours for dogs. They encourage them to use their noses and brains, provide mental stimulation and can help promote calm, relaxed behaviour. 🐶

The goal is simple: grooming should feel safe, positive and rewarding from the very beginning. ❤️✂️

Gorgeous Barney came in for his groom, joined by his new little sister, 15-week-old Winnie, who had her very first introduction to grooming! 🥰

Winnie did absolutely brilliantly for her first visit, taking everything in her stride while I gently introduced her to the salon, grooming equipment and all the new sights and sounds. 🛁✂️

Gorgeous Caren and Gary, two Newfoundland giants! 🖤🐻

7½ hours later… and we finally made it to the finish line! 💪✂️🛁

It took two professional groomers working together to get these two beauties finished today — and what a workout it was! 😂

Newfoundlands are absolutely incredible dogs, but their size, coats and sheer volume of hair make grooming them a serious undertaking. These two are always brilliant throughout their appointments. ❤️

A HUGE groom, a LOT of coat, and plenty of hard work later… they’re both looking and feeling fabulous! 🥰🐾

✨ Koko’s First Introduction Groom ✨

Gorgeous Koko the German Shepherd came in at one years old for her very first introduction to grooming! 🐾

Today’s focus was all about brushing and gentle dryer desensitisation, helping her build positive associations and confidence with the grooming process.

With her licky mat keeping her happy and occupied, Koko did absolutely brilliantly! 💕 She was able to experience everything at her own pace, with plenty of encouragement and positive reinforcement.

Koko will now be visiting every 4 weeks for short, one-hour appointments, allowing us to gradually build on today’s progress without overwhelming her. 🐶✨

These first experiences are all about gently introducing puppies to the sights, sounds and sensations of the grooming environment, helping them build confidence and learn that grooming can be a calm and positive experience. 💕

Reggie was an absolute superstar and did so well for his first visit! 🐩🌟
