As your local farm vets, we don't just see the livestock; we see the people behind them.
Caring for your stock is your life, but your own health is the most important asset on the farm.

To our clients and the wider agricultural community: we are more than just your vet team. We are part of your community, and we are always in your corner. If you ever need a chat during a routine visit, our vets always have time for an open ear. You are never alone. 💚

Vet Jess was presented with a 1 month old calf with acute colic. There was some response to the fluids, pain relief and vitamins, but worryingly down hill 12 hrs later.

The scan showed a no gut movement with inflamed gut loops and dilated displaced loops of the large intestine. Jess was suspicious of a twisted gut.

Unfortunately, the calf passed later that evening. A post mortem confirmed a full mesenteric twist which caused the entire intestinal tract to twist and become necrotic.

Really sad, even with early intervention, modern medicine and good diagnostics we can’t save them all. 😔 have you seen this before?

In February, Bryony had the incredible opportunity to travel to India with Ben Dustan and Yoav Alony Gilboa from the Goat Veterinary Society. They were hosted by Venky’s, a major poultry conglomerate looking to apply their large-scale production model to the goat meat industry.

Goat meat is a staple in India, and the scale of the operation is fascinating. We were there to share our expertise, assess their current processes, and offer advice on navigating the unique challenges of goat production—from managing mortality rates to improving efficiency.

It was an eye-opening trip filled with warm hospitality, insightful meetings, and a few hundred cups of chai. We’re excited about the potential for future collaboration.

Fresh newsletter out this weekend.

In the last week of February Bryony was invited to India as part of her role with the Goat Veterinary Society. They were there to advise Venky’s, a major poultry conglomerate, on how best to create a goat meat network for local farmers based on the success of the existing chicken module.

🐄 Wellness at Tyndale
We know that farm veterinary work is incredibly rewarding, but it can also be demanding. Our team spends long hours on the road, often working independently to care for livestock 24/7, 365 days a year.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week nationally, and we’re proud to share how we’ve been supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of our 30-plus team through our new structured wellness initiative.

We recently kicked things off with a dedicated Wellness Week, featuring:

💕Professional Support: Wellbeing workshops with Health Shield and future sessions planned for sleep, fatigue, and resilience.
💕Physical Health: On-site sports massages and Pilates classes.
💕Daily De-stressors: Healthy lunches, hydration stations, and hot drinks vouchers for our vets out on farm calls.

A happy, healthy team means a higher standard of care for our clients and their animals. 💚
