🐴🔥 A safety essential for every horsebox 🔥🐴

When we’re travelling with our horses, we carry everything we need for their comfort and wellbeing — but fire safety equipment is something that can easily be overlooked.

I’ve added a Fire Safety Stick to our horsebox because it’s a compact, lightweight way to be better prepared should a fire occur.

Unlike traditional fire extinguishers, the Fire Safety Stick is non-pressurised and uses a solid compound that, when activated, produces a fire-suppressing vapour. This helps interrupt the chemical reaction of combustion, helping to control early-stage fires and give you valuable time to move to safety.

Why I like it for a horsebox:

✅ Small and lightweight – weighing from just 215g, it’s easy to store without taking up valuable space.

✅ Suitable for multiple fire types – tested for use on Class A (wood, paper, plastics, textiles), Class B (flammable liquids such as petrol and diesel), Class C (flammable gases), Class F (cooking oils and fats), and electrical fires up to 100,000V.

The Midway Championship at Hartpury 2026.

Golden boy was indeed golden 💛 not that anyone expected anything different 🤴🏼.

Zita’s first general and lorry outing 🤣 she was a star despite the odd witching hour 🤣.

Day 1:
Cruz warmed up great with Tessa in my ear 🥰. Although I tensed up for our test, he preformed a lovely test, resulting in a PERSONAL BEST with 68.667% leaving us 5th overnight 😅. A PB at a championship is a feeling of something else 🥹🥰.

Then onto a first for us!….
Freestyle to music 🎶.
Despite having only ridden through our test with the music once on Tuesday (3 days prior) we were both excited but also nervous 🤣.
However….
Cruz absolutely smashed the music and gave me such a ride…. Safe to say he loves his music 🥳. Still have to get to grips with timings etc to polish up, however I am super proud of how our first attempt went! Cannot thank Equidance for creating such a great floor plan and music that rocks! 🎸🤘. We finished 2nd in the BD affiliated FSM on 68.846% with 70.769 for art 🥰❤️. Without us knowing, the unaffiliated music championship and BD class results were merged - finishing 8th out of 16 (for the championship).

Day 2:
Nice early start for an 08:30 test 🥲. Cruz was clean - so that was a win 🤣.
He warmed in great with mum in my ear. A little pep talk and we were on our way down the centre line again - 3rd to go is always a little daunting 🙈. However he smashed it again in the medium 6 for 66.111% putting us in the lead for the majority of the first half of the class 😳🥹.

A nail biting morning awaiting for the final championship results. We averaged on 67.389% putting us 6th place overall! I am overwhelmed with his performance and his results at a championship. Especially when reality hits - 42 test combinations over the two days, all silver riders 1-5th and we finish as one of the first Bronze combinations in 6th place ❤️ Draughts really can dance!!!

I cannot thank all of those for everything they do to support us and make these days possible! 💛.

Huge thanks to Tessa for all of our training sessions! Who’d have thought we’d have got this far 🤷🏻‍♀️. Without you it wouldn’t have been possible! ❤️.

A lovely day spent at Chard Equestrian for Petplan UK Festivals.

Despite golden boy having an accident on Thursday evening (rubbing his backside) not even 24 hours post osteo. Thank the lord Tex was around on speed dial to come and be our knight in shining amour 🤴🥳.

Early start to avoid any traffic and make sure we had plenty of time to get ready 😅.

Lovely to see Rachel with Dorothy! 🥰.

Amazing warm up with Tessa in the ear of course 💪🏻

Slightly more nervous than usual 🧐 A firm talking to and we headed down the centre line. Not the score we’d have hoped for but the test was full of so many more positives 🥳. And I mustn’t forget he’s not bred for the discipline but fortunately holds his own and we are very grateful to have had a 2nd attempt at festivals at medium level 🏆🥳. We finished 8th amongst a competitive field.

Onto the next….
