DOG OF THE MONTH WINNER – MAY

Congratulations to this month's Dog of the Month winner, Teddy the Cavalier.

Teddy stole our hearts with his beautiful long coat, those stunning expressive eyes, and his gentle, charming look. He's the perfect example of why Cavaliers are such a much-loved breed. From his flowing fur to his friendly face, Teddy is an absolute star and a very deserving winner.

As our winner, Teddy will receive a Dog of the Month certificate and a £10 voucher to spend at Croots Country Store.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered this month. We loved seeing all of your wonderful dogs and reading about them. Choosing a winner is never easy, and every entry brought a smile to our faces.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered our Dog of the Month competition today.

Entries are now officially closed and we have the very difficult job of choosing our winner. There have been so many brilliant photos and stories sent in — you definitely haven’t made it easy for us.

The winner will be announced right here on Facebook on Saturday 30th at 3pm.

Our lucky winner will receive their Dog of the Month certificate and a £10 Croots voucher to spend in store.

FOOD FRIDAY

A brilliant midweek dinner idea using local Cowal Deer venison mince.

VENISON CHILLI

Ingredients:
• 500g Cowal Deer venison mince
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 cloves garlic, crushed
• 1 red pepper, chopped
• 1 tin chopped tomatoes
• 1 tbsp tomato purée
• 1 tin kidney beans
• 1 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp chilli powder
• Salt and pepper
• Oil for frying

Method:

1. Fry the onion, garlic, and pepper in a little oil until softened.
2. Add the venison mince and cook until browned.
3. Stir in the paprika, chilli powder, and tomato purée.
4. Add the chopped tomatoes and simmer for 20 minutes.
5. Stir through the kidney beans and cook for another 10 minutes.
6. Serve with rice, wedges, or baked potatoes.

The shelves are fully stocked once again with our usual local Heather Honey and Scottish Flower Honey from The Travelling Bee Company.

And this time we’ve also got something a little special…

A limited batch of Apple Orchard Honey.

It’s absolutely amazing — light, fruity, and completely different from our usual honeys. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Many people also choose local honey during hayfever season. Local honey contains small amounts of local pollen, and some believe regular exposure may help the body gradually build tolerance to the pollens found in the surrounding area.

Our puppy range includes items designed to help with:
