💛 Update on our missing kitten 💛

Following on from our post earlier, we’re so pleased to share a happy update!

The missing black and white kitten has now been safely reunited with her mum and is back where she belongs 🐾 She came in to see us today for a check over and is doing really well.

Thank you so much to everyone who shared our post, kept an eye out!

We’re incredibly relieved this one has had such a positive ending 💕

🚒Every day is different at Moloney’s, and today was certainly one to remember. 🚒

We want to reassure everyone that this was not a case of a cat being lost while in our care. Unfortunately, a cat carrier was not properly secured on arrival, and a cat managed to escape and run up a tree.

Thanks to the quick response from Wethersfield’s Fire Service, along with a real team effort from the Moloney’s staff, we were able to safely rescue her.

Sadly, we do still have one cat currently on the loose. She is a small black and white kitten. A local charity has kindly set up traps, and we are doing everything we can to safely reunite her with her owner. We are keeping everything crossed for her safe return.

We would also really appreciate it if everyone could keep a close eye out for the missing black and white kitten and contact us straight away with any sightings.

We wanted to share this as an important reminder to all pet owners to ensure that cat carriers are secure when travelling to and from the vets. These situations can happen very quickly, and our priority is always to keep our patients as safe as possible.

Thank you again to everyone involved today 💛

Here’s another Moloney team member doing some amazing charity work Charlotte our practice Manager 💛

On June 6th, I’ll be taking on a 26 mile hike across the Brecon Beacons with some amazing friends to raise money for Cancer Research UK

Cancer has affected my family deeply. In 2025, two close family members were diagnosed, and we sadly lost my mother in law after her brave battle with ovarian cancer. Around the same time, my brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer and faced it with incredible strength.

If you’re able to donate or share a bit of encouragement, I’d be so grateful. Every step is for them and for everyone affected by cancer 💛

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. This year myself and a few lovely friends have set ourselves the challenge of taking part in The Big Hike to help power progress for people affected by cancer. Unfortunately as all too many of us know loved ones that have been and are affected b...

☀️ Hot weather can be dangerous for our dogs — even a short walk can put them at risk of heat stroke. 🐶💔

Please remember:
💧 Always provide fresh water
🌳 Keep dogs in the shade during peak heat
🚶 Walk early morning or late evening
🚗 Never leave a dog in a parked car — even for a minute
🔥 If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws

If you are concerned that your dog may have heat stroke immediately wet the dog and then call your vet.

Let’s keep our four-legged friends safe this summer ❤️

🐾 Teddy’s Visit to Our Dunmow Branch 🐾

Teddy recently visited our Dunmow branch and was an absolute pleasure to care for.

He was seen by our vet, Sophie, for treatment of a urine infection and behaved impeccably throughout his visit. He certainly appreciated a few well earned treats along the way. 🦴

We’re very pleased to see him doing well and wish him a speedy recovery.

Jerrys Essex to Dublin cycle 🚲

To celebrate 50 years in veterinary practice, I’m taking on a personal challenge, cycling 320 miles from Great Dunmow to my old vet school in Dublin via Holyhead 🚴‍♂️
I’m doing this to raise funds for three incredible charities: Vetlife, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, and Unicef UK,causes that make a real difference every day.

I’ve been training since November and, in my favour, I’ll be riding my e-bike, which should make the hills a little easier. That said, I’ll be carrying a heavy load and cycling with two fairly battered knees… and at 73, it’s no small challenge!

I’m aiming to complete the journey over 4 days, setting off from Moloney Dunmow Vet Clinic on Saturday 20th June so please follow along here and on TikTok to see how I get on.
Any support or sponsorship would be hugely appreciated. Let’s raise as much as we can for these fantastic charities!

Thank you all!
