How to ensure your pet’s operation goes smoothly? We have some suggestions! 👩🏻‍⚕️🩺🐶

• Bath your dog a day or two before their surgery to make sure they are as clean as possible (cats are usually fine as they clean themselves)
• Feed your pet before 6pm the day before surgery, no food after this but water is fine
• If your female dog/cat is in heat, it is best to postpone any surgeries until after her heat has finished
• Make sure your pet goes to the toilet before they come in as they will be inside for a few hours
• If you are bringing in a cat for an operation, please bring them in a pet carrier as we don’t want them jumping out of your arms and getting lost!
• Your pets stitches must be removed after 10 days, you can come in to the clinic any time for this, no appointment necessary!
• Your pet will be a little out of sorts up to 48 hours after their operation so it’s best to prepare a warm, quiet place for them to rest when they get home

If you have any other questions that we didn’t cover here, feel free to send us a message and we’ll give you all the advice we can 😊
