Please respect other owners and their dogs. It doesn’t matter how friendly your dog is it’s not ok to let your offl leash dog saunter up to a dog who is on leash

*Hot weather Monday/Tuesday*

We are preparing for the heat the next couple of days.

If you prefer not to travel your pets to the vet please CALL US to rearrange your appointment.

If you have a brachycephalic (squash faced) dog or cat in particular, we would recommend you keep them in the house in the cool for this time.

* do NOT walk dogs from 9am-9pm - no dog died from not being walked, they DO die from being walked in the heat
* keep cats indoors with access to fresh water
* small caged pets should be moved to cool shady areas or indoors, with plenty of fresh water

If you are concerned your pet is suffering from heat stroke please call us ASAP - our vets provide emergency cover all day and night. 0131 440 4229.

Hear hear

My recent post about respectful dog owners/neighbors has created a lively discussion with my "neighborhood" group. My thoughts were "disappointing" for "super smart doggie owners". We were questioned with our motives for "bad advertising" and "promotional attempts" with the post. Um, no... I don't need representation like that for training. Carry on with your beliefs that your dog can crap wherever he/she wants. And, I'm SURE your dog is super well trained. 😅

Walking, by definition, makes no mention of emptying your bowels whenever you feel the urge. We develop a sense of control to be able to hold it until we get home. Or, we do our business before we leave home. But, we must let them be dogs, right? They need to bark when they want, crap when they want and p*e when they want. Just let them have what they WANT!!! People are enabling their dogs, just like they are enabling their children. What happened to self-control and discipline? What happened to saying "No. Now is not the time or place for that."

I am sorry to the non-dog people out there that have likely developed a disgust for these great creatures because of the behavior of their owners.
