In true Kym fashion I’ve ordered the wrong DT Box so looking to sell this DT 1100L. It’s brand new, a paw hasn’t even stepped inside - I’m just out of the return/exchange time frame 🫠

I bought it for £730 looking for close to this if anyone knows of anyone needing to upgrade their crates. They are crash tested 🤩

🐾 1:1 Scentwork Sessions are back! 🐾

It’s been about a year since I’ve opened my 1:1 Scentwork sessions to everyone, but I’ve decided it’s time to bring a few back!

Maybe you’ve tried Scentwork before and would love to get back into it, but weekly classes just don’t fit your schedule.

Maybe you’ve heard about Scentwork and would love to give it a go, but you’re not ready to commit to a full block.

Or maybe you have a dog who would simply benefit from having the space completely to themselves. ❤️

That’s exactly what these sessions are for.

Because it’s just you, your dog and me, we can make the session completely individual to you. We can introduce you to Scentwork from scratch, build on skills you already have, troubleshoot something you’re struggling with, or work with dogs who need a little more consideration than a group class can offer.

That includes dogs who are reactive, nervous, easily overwhelmed, high arousal or just aren’t comfortable working around other dogs. Your dog doesn’t need to fit into a class environment to enjoy Scentwork.

There’s also no block commitment — book a session when it works for you and your dog.

Whether you want to dip your toe into Scentwork, get back into training after a break, work towards competition or simply give your dog something brilliant to do with their nose, we’ll meet you where you are. 🐶👃

Interested? Just message me!

A limited number of 1:1 spaces will be available.

As people know not many people are allowed to just take my dogs, not because they would do anything but because I don’t find it fair leaving them with people that don’t "speak" their language. Hannah is one of the few people I never worry she truly understands dogs and what motivates them.
So glad I get to work with such a talented person that constantly thrives to learn and do best for the dog.

Being a dog trainer... without a dog.

Recently, I’ve been feeling a little bit off.

How can I be a dog trainer and practise what I preach when, for the first time in a very long time, I don’t actually have a dog of my own?

It’s a strange feeling going through my days without my little sidekick. So much of my identity, both personally and professionally, has always involved having my own dog beside me.

But I’ve had to remind myself that owning a dog isn’t what makes me a dog trainer.

The truth is, I work with and handle dogs almost seven days a week. Group walks, Walk & Trains, social walks, 1:1 training, scentwork classes and everything in between. I’m constantly working with different dogs, different breeds, different temperaments and different challenges.

Ollie taught me an incredible amount over the years, and so much of the trainer I am today was shaped by him. But I’ve learnt a hell of a lot more through getting hands-on experience with hundreds of dogs who aren’t my own.

Every dog teaches me something.

Your dogs have challenged me, made me think, forced me to adapt and helped me become a better trainer. They’ve taught me that what works beautifully for one dog might be completely wrong for the next, and that good dog training isn’t about following a formula. It’s about learning to read and work with the dog in front of you.

So yes, right now I’m a dog trainer without a dog.

I’m still learning from dogs every single day. And while life and work feel a little strange without my little sidekick beside me, I’m incredibly lucky that you all trust me enough to learn from yours.

And a big thank you, as always, to Kira Canine Adventures for letting me borrow her girls. They’ve been the best stand-in stooges for 1:1 sessions I could ask for, and I’m very grateful to have them. ❤️

What a great day at our Foundation Trail with Scentwork & Dog training - Fife and surrounding areas and Jess - Magnus K9 Trainer 👃 ! 🐾💛

Such a lovely day spent with great people, doing what we love!

The biggest surprise of the day was Frida being awarded a Synergy Badge by Jess - Magnus K9 Trainer 👃 for our interior search 🥹✨ Definitely a very special one to receive!

And with two more badges earned today, Frida and I have officially staged up! 🎉 I’m so proud of how far this little chaos gremlin has come.

Selection, however… was absolutely NOT our moment today 😂 Somehow, between the two of us, we managed to get completely lost amongst six boxes. Honestly, quite impressive in its own way 🤣

But hey — we all have days where neither dog nor handler can quite remember what they’re supposed to be doing! 😂

A brilliant day, lots learned, lots to celebrate, and as always, so much fun working alongside my little Frida 💛

🚨 Tom Moir Workshop Update 🚨

All handler spots are now gone 🎉

However, if you’d still like to join us, you’ve got 2 options:

🐾 Spectator Spot
We highly encourage spectator spaces, as you can learn so much by watching other handlers work their dogs and listening to the feedback throughout the workshop.

🐾 Wait List for Working Spots
If you were hoping to work your dog, please send me a message and I’ll add you to the wait list. We are potentially considering releasing additional morning working spots depending on demand.

Thank you so much for the interest so far — we’re very excited to have Tom back with us! 🙌

👉 We’ve only opened a limited number of spaces initially
👉 Spaces are first come, first served

⏳ Pre-sale closes: 25th June

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from Tom again, and his last visit was incredibly popular — so don’t hang about if you’re keen to join us!

It’s not something I usually post about, but this week really made me stop and take it all in.

We’re starting four training blocks—right from Intro through to Advanced teams—dogs and handlers all working at completely different levels, progressing not just in their Scentwork, but as part of a genuinely supportive and growing community.

A year ago, we couldn’t even host our own competitions. Now we’re running them every month, alongside workshops, regular classes, and welcoming guest trainers and judges. It’s been a huge shift in such a short space of time.

None of this has happened on its own. There are so many people behind the scenes who have supported, encouraged, and helped shape what this has become. Way too many to name all in one post.

And a special thank you to Hannah —your hard work never goes unnoticed, even if it’s not always said out loud. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am without you.

It’s been a big year for Canine Adventures 🐾
